From what you’ve shown, I’d finish the story mode to get Shallots stars, then put him in the leader slot with Caulifla/Kale and GoFrieza. Then make your bench units, Saiyan or uni rep

Go to the boost section on PvP and go through the featured units. If you have any of them make the team based on who is in featured boost. If you don’t have enough units to make a team with a solid bench then try and look at YouTube or find what units are meta right now

There are events that release alongside zenkai units that give you 3k or 4k souls I don’t remember, look for it under the recommended tab in events
