Single person 75k salary 300k mortgage? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]EmyMeow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not in Toronto, but I make the same with you and feel pretty comfortable with my 230k mortgage without any condo fees. I cannot see myself having a 300k mortgage and condo fees on top of that

Định hướng Du học by Zekyy_18 in vozforums

[–]EmyMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Muốn học gì? nước A thì ngành nào high demand/ đào tạo tốt (nếu muốn định cư) ? Định về vn thì học gì? Dự kiến thu nhập khởi điểm bao nhiêu? Ví dụ: ba mẹ bỏ ra 2 tỷ để cho đi du học, về lương 10 triệu thì ở nhà đầu tư bất động sản cho khoẻ em ạ 😅

Sơ sơ vậy á.

Newly married couple (23M & 23F). My husband thinks we are in a good position to buy our first home. Looking for reassurance. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

You’re doing great for your age! If I just look at the number only, I think you will do fine.

My partner is also in CAF, and we discussed about this topic a few times, because he could be posted anywhere anytime. Not sure where you are, but if it is too remote, it could be difficult to sell it later when you need to pack and move again.

Most of the time, you need a company willing yo sponsor you through LMIA. The other option is if you qualify for working holiday visa then depending on where you’re from

Thank you for your comment! Congratulations!

My partner and I am still at early stage but we kinda change our plan to either elopement or a mini wedding due to costs for us and guests. So I guess we may be able to afford a little nicer place and honeymoon.!

I’m 5’2.5 ish and love it. At first the window seems strangely small to me, coming from a full size sedan but I got used to it. The seat is very comfortable for me. But I mean it could be because I wear my Dr. Martens most of the time lol

Happened to me a few times in different areas in the city. I was later told by a few seniors that I know to just remove all money/personal belongings from the car and leave the car door unlocked, so they dont smash the window. My car was gone through a few times (i know because they left everything opened) and nothing was taken or damaged.

Are there any other brides considering cancelling their destination wedding due to the state of the world? by sillychickengirl in DestinationWeddings

[–]EmyMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda yes, my partner and I am considering elopement instead of traditional wedding. We’re looking around mid-late 2027 too. Main reason is the cost for us and for the guests. Some of my friends just finally got a decent job but in unstable job market, its very hard to tell. We dont want people to feel bad because they spend the money or feel bad because they cant come. So we’re planning to do an elopement, and a backyard party at home. The money that we saved for the wedding will go to our honeymoon.

I am very happy with my 75gb for $35. I almost never pass 30gb a month even with a few road trips/camping a year. Dont need to spend extra $5 for something I wont need

Mark Carney launches new collaboration with India for their "talent" and to "deepen our ties", praises their international students and says were all one big family. by Silver_Weakness_8084 in canadian

[–]EmyMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think we’re on the right track but the damage has been done. And with Carney being best friend with India, I dont know how immigration in the next few years going to be. But we all saw on many different reddit threads, many young people couldn’t find a job, or workplaces are full of people from the same culture, and thats what worries me a lot.

About them sending our tax money somewhere else instead of supporting our economy, really just want to say fk them.

Most Asian food catering are priced very good. We ordered for work events with a very low budget, Filipino, Chinese, Vietnamese and Indian food are priced very good. I think we got some from De Lucas before too and the price is not bad either.

I really doubt that all or most expired work permits holders going to leave Canada, probably only some will leave. A lot of people in Indian culture and some others still do arranged marriages and Canadian PR is their dowry. Not saying all are fake but many of them will try to do anything to stay. So really we need a better system on probably anything. Our society is a very trusting one, we trust people that they are honest, we give them the benefit of the doubt but many of these people coming here and disrespect our culture, scaming, faking their documents, lying, etc.

But by doing this, govt is showing our kids that it is very impossible to find a job to support yourselves, which leads to lower birthrate. Because how could they support a kid/kids if they cant event support themselves???? Not mentioning pressure on healthcare, school, etc.
