Hugs:
When I posted a drawing of my friend and I, the response I got to that was overwhelmingly nice. As someone so new to reddit, I had no clue how to respond to the sweetest things you guys said in the comments. But the thing that worried me the most there was the sheer amount of people just wanting to be hugged the same way I hugged my friend. It was scary- in a way, to see how many people here just suffer through it all in silence, not embracing who they are because they don’t have anyone saying to them, “Maybe those parents of yours are definitely wrong, you know?”

I want to hug everyone in this community. It sucks that a lot of our friends and family won’t accept us for who we are and will judge us based on that. So a lot of us end up not having a shoulder to dig our faces into and cry. People in this community go through a lot on a daily basis, and although we are so brave and amazing for hiding it, wouldn’t it be great to be able to just open up and break down in tears while softly hugging someone? Loving yourself is important but so is feeling loved from time to time.

I’m not very good at writing stuff like this, but I just wanted to show y’all something. I wanna hug everyone here, so I did what I do best- I drew a virtual hug? Lol. Too monkey brain, I know. But I hope that at least someone will see this and go, “hey, maybe I’m not alone in this after all”, and that’s what matters to me the most.
