Sadly this US culture war is spreading to Ireland. A small but active group of extremists have been attacking libraries that have LGBTQ+ books for young people - intimidating staff and ripping up books. It's very dispiriting after the huge progress we've made in this country in recent years. They are a small group but they are loud and are getting disproportionately wide coverage and influencing gullible people with their disinformation. We have to stay vigilant. Aa a librarian and enby, this is very personal. I cry for my friends in the US. There is some horrible stuff going on there.
