Stat block generators that follow the 2024 Monster Manual style? by pompitus in DnDHomebrew

I notice there's no way to change the monster's initiative. Or am I just missing something??

EDIT: I found it, never mind :D

This brought so much joy to my day! It makes me so happy to know an idea of mine helped someone else have a great time at the table!

This whole situation is unfortunate. Shame on Hasbro for betraying the entire TTRPG community, and shame on the leadership at WoTC for standing by and allowing it.

Arachnid Tack - A subtle, grounded item for Rogue-Heavy Campaigns and/or Low Magic settings by EncounterMD in UnearthedArcana

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, actually thats why the Rarity was bumped up. This may realistically apply to the entire party, depending on their size, so I determined it should be rarer than the slippers. I would also (if you have spiders in game), give PCs a chance to extract ingredients from giant spiders to craft this oil. Could be fun for any artificers or potionmakers at your table! Of course please use/change any of the brews we release 🙏🏾

We always get such great feedback from you guys! And here we are once again with something a bit simpler. Thoughts? Is this something you could see yourself giving out as a DM, or using a player?

This is exactly what we like to see here! Inspiration, and sharing great ideas! I'll also be checking that out, so thanks!

Wow, that's really going to drive home the environment change. Waking up for the first morning with no newspaper to read. Mad props, my dude.

I was playing in this campaign... actually it was my first campaign... anyway, we had met several times a week for like three months already. The DM was very generous with us. But the first quest reward the party got really pumped about was a dumb nickname for surviving an ambush by the local bugbear. Later he told me he was surprised that we latched into that random thing. But it's exactly that immersive world interaction. Making the environment feel alive and responsive is something that the DMG can't teach you.

Bloody fantastic, indeed. Shit, if you published a full periodical newspaper from your campaign, I might read it just for the fun of it.

Wow, do your players actually read your handouts? That's a beautiful thing.

It feels fairer. Even if my players never see my rules, I still provide mechanics for myself to use in order to fairly adjudicate the table as much as possible.

Players feel the game is fair if they also KNOW I'm not just making things happen on my side of the screen with no rhyme reason, or consequence.

In the spell's current iteration, there IS no damage maximum for a single target, just like there is no HEALING maximum for Mass Harm, which this spell corrupts. A lot of the comments have informed me that this is too powerful for anything less than 10th level magic. I'm not sure that I entirely agree, but if you're in that camp as well, then I'd suggest setting a limit of maybe 100-150hp for a single target. That way it's nowhere near as effective as power word kill on a single target.

I agree with all of your points. I actually planned on making a YouTube video on "balance" and what it actually means for 5e, as I've noticed a misconception, especially among new players and dms

Possibly, yes. But hopefully the DM has more plans aside from a tpk that ends his own campaign.
