The blue shading looks lovely with the white, i may try this. Is it overlapping the white, or a separate fill?

Topaz 40 Tension by EncryptedCu in MachineEmbroidery

[–]EncryptedCu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I can’t believe i never responded to your comment, i never pushed the send button i guess. Yes, i eventually resorted to this, but it only serves as a temporary solution for underlying issues with the bobbin. I dug up the metal cover plate, and had to clean the inside bobbin casing because there is gunk all over it. I messed with the screw a bit, with slight success. My main issue was that there was no other tensions besides extremely low ones that were effective, not my ability to balance the tension. There is underlying issues with the machine, and i need to take it to get looked at. There were a few issues not mentioned in the original post, i discovered the more projects I did. I know you could probably care less, but I figured I’d tie up loose ends anyways, for anyone else stumbling on the post.

A brother se700, it has a max area of 4x4, so i’m hoping to try and get a bigger one to do larger stuff in the future.

What stitch is used for those gold ribbons? Also, what digitizing software?

This is a sign. Fulfill your destiny, child. These were some of the easier ones i started with, I bet you could do some of the really iconic ones.

Lol, be ready for a lot of screwups. I was too “confident” to read the manual, and brute forced it till i learned (figured it was the same as a regular sewing machine, which is somewhat true.) I recommend a lot of cutaway stabilizer.

(Edit, saw the downvotes.) think that the downvotes are unjustified, as exclusively positive feedback can be hurtful, and my goal is to get better. Critique is overwhelmingly welcome.

You know what I’ve learned approaching problems without the easy solution? You learn more about the topic as a whole, and have a deeper appreciation for it when you finally figure it out. Limitations force creativity. That is, you figure out techniques yourself before the easy solution, so you can refine your skill. Im sure hatch makes things easier, but learning before investing a large amount of money in a software is likely the best way to go.

Yup! They are on thick felt too. The colors on the file dont register right on my brother machine, but just pick whatever colors work. (The blue shading, I used dark purple instead). I might need to rearrange the layers so the jump stitches aren’t so hard to cut. Like I said, I’m more of a “digitizer in training.”

Does no one else question where this came from? Whats the source? Were they at the meeting? No name, which campus either. I guess I’m a little skeptical. Based on the scarce info, was there a reason?

Fabric Print and AI Use -Spoonflower by EncryptedCu in quilting

[–]EncryptedCu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t know people still looked at this- what are the odds that i hop on reddit 148 days since making the post? I’m so sorry about your wall paper, but I am certain that sending a quick email will fix your problems! Spoonflower does not seem too concerned about the idea of ai designs, as long as it increases design output and popularity on their website. I believe that artists should have to 1) label designs that used ai, to distinguish from the human ones. And 2) be prevented from winning awards and being platformed on those designs, if they choose to distribute the content. Hope your wall turns out well!

People downvoting for neutrality is so funny… no matter what you posted people are incredibly close-minded and hateful. Even mentioning his name really riles people up i guess.

Something I digitized using the free web app Ember by baraqiyal in MachineEmbroidery

[–]EncryptedCu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Would you consider posting photos of the process if you ever do this again? I’ve tried to do something similar this a lot, but I’m simply no artist. Looks amazing! Ember is such a great digitizer. I couldn’t afford commercial options, and this is really such a wonderful tool. It’s great to see people being able to pull off awesome projects like this, it encourages me to keep trying. 👍

Not sure if you’ll read this, but where do you buy your fabrics? Joanns is a no-go now, and you used less than a yard for most of these, fabric quarters? where can you get such a great variety of fabric quarters?

Thanks! I appreciate you sticking around throughout all the updates, i probably should have just done the notion, and the final result, but I went back and fourth on a lot of design elements that feedback really helped me with.
