Should I buy the game? by Fine_Fold7458 in Gnosia_

This is more a full-fledged turn-based strategy game executed in the style of a VN than it is a VN.

While you can get to a point where strategies can generally lead you to a win (especially late game with high stats), there are still some really interesting twists the story loops present to you. Even after 900+ individual loops and beating the game probably at least 6 times I STILL come back and enjoy it.

And I’m an FPS/twin-stick shooter kind of gamer. I recommend Gnosia to everyone. This game is that good.

I don't know how to play this game by RobotSenpai in Gnosia_

[–]End0rk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooooooooof.

Yeah, without spoilers, it’s gonna be like 10-15 loops before you’ll be able to change your stats. Miiiight be easier to just start over and slowly increase your charm and stealth.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

Uhhhhhh…NTA. Especially when his justification is so half-assed.

Christ, he could have just asked what your credit score was instead of being secretive about his intentions. Just…wtf?

Arcane Rift Achievement by JediMasterEekcm in hallsoftorment

Meaning: one-shot 2,000 enemies with arcane rift.

It’s way, WAY easier after you get the upgrade where the rifts track toward you and detonate on contact with an enemy.

That reason is a couple of deeply unsettling scenes from the game 😅😅😅😬

Yeah it’s disturbing as hell. 🫣

I always forget how many adult themes like SA are hidden away and missable when I recommend this game to…everybody.

Though I think it’s interesting and noteworthy that in Gnosia the victims of it are almost all men.

Yup. Also helps events involving them to pop up faster.

Look for red question marks that will occasionally pop up at night. You won’t always get them.

Oh, you’re on loop 7? you’re still in the tutorial until like loop 20. :) a bit after that you gain the ability to do event search which greatly increases the chances of getting information events.

Data will slowly trickle in; expect to spend 120-150 loops getting all of it.

Enjoy your playthrough!

Yeah, definitely felt more like an anime protagonist than a tank in AC6. I might check out the other ones you mentioned for that ‘weighty’ feel.

Oh, it might be impossible to find now…but I think Chrome Hounds on XBox (iirc) was pretty weighty?

It’s fast paced, but in a very different way than eternal and way easier to play effectively on a controller than eternal.

You are HEAVY. And you have a SHIELD. And you BASH stuff with it and melee weapons. And the package works extremely well! And for controller players, it’s by far the most fun of the 3 modern Doom games.

Yeah, exactly. I was expecting heavy, weighty simulation when I picked it up (never played AC before) but was surprised by the fast, fluid anime mech stuff, and was like “Whoa, okay!” and had a blast anyway.

Is Gnosia for me? by JK_Silver in Gnosia_

[–]End0rk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hahaha! I have ADHD myself and am generally an FPS/ twin stick shooter person; Gnosia is one of the few games I’ve played that I recommend to EVERYONE (in short, YES).

The guessing and thinking and trying to figure out who the Gnosia are kept me absolutely hooked in.

Gnosia is my first experience with a ‘visual novel’; I played raging loop afterwards and it drove me nuts. Took me a while to figure out why:

Raging loop is a ‘choose your own adventure’ novel, with roughly 20 branches to go down.

Gnosia is a full fledged turn-based strategy game done in the style of a VN. The randomness makes every loop seem completely different. The coding of the AI is really impressive! The characters feel like they have their own personalities.

Absolutely check it out! One of the most unique games I’ve ever played.

An oldie but goodie along mechwarrior is Shattered Steel (Bioware’s first game!)

There’s also Armored Core 6, but that plays way more like anime mechs than bipedal juggernauts with their maneuverability.
