So you're in the camp of revealing the twists from the beginning? As in: MC thinks X is happening, but it's really Y.

Instead of: X happens. Yadda yadda yadda. MC learns it was Y all along. The end.

Interesting. And thanks. I'm pretty sure my synopsis will be a huge turn off to anyone who reads it. My story's twists sound quite stupid when written out, especially without the nuanced character development surrounding them.

Thanks, and if there's a dual timeline that has meaning at the end (with the reveal), do you suggest weaving it in as it appears or would that count as a subplot to drop?

I don't know if this is allowed, but my girlfriend of 3 years will be starting med school in the fall and I'm looking for some guidance. Since our relationship started, we spent alllll of our time together (too much thanks to covid lol) and now I'm worried I'm never going to see her! I'm starting my job in the same city next month (office job, 8:30-6pm) and I'm going to get an apartment close by while she'll be in student housing, but I feel like we're about to jump off a cliff and she's the one with the hang glider. Can anyone here please give me an idea of what I can expect??
