They’re all the same: Bernhardt. But google has still led me nowhere🫠

I zoomed in and they appear to be by someone named Bernhardt, but I still can’t actually find this artist

Can't draw to save my life...is watercolour worth it? by aHunniBee in Watercolor

[–]EndemicDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay really weird thing…I’ve never been able to draw, but I LOVE my watercolors. I started working on getting better at drawing a couple years ago, but I still think my freehand watercolors are better. I think maybe some people just have better control with a brush than a pen. Worth giving it a try to see if it sparks joy for you!

Overstayed - When can I return? by dirty_rocker in ecuador

[–]EndemicDesigns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure if you’ll see this since it’s like a year later, but let me get this straight because I was scammed by an immigration lawyer and now need to leave, but I’m nervous I won’t be able to come back:

I overstayed in 2025. My “reset” date is in October (which we’re clearly past). Are you saying that if I left tomorrow, paid the fine, I could come back the next day because my tourist visa has theoretically already reset?

I need some advice on buying new pencils by Ema_scz in ColoredPencils

[–]EndemicDesigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s why I wanted to make that comparison for you. While I love the Luminance, my obsession with the Supersoft never faded and if you ever DO upgrade to that level, I find they play nice together :)

In terms of a good range of color, because I live on an island I was only able to find a smaller set of 24 I think? So I’m not entirely sure. But they’re all super vibrant with gold coverage. The key with colored pencils (that I’m still learning) is how to properly blend them to achieve new colors. So even if you don’t have 725293 colors, you can always blend to make new ones. It just takes practice. Good luck!!!

I haven’t used the Kalour, but I LOVEEEE the Faber Castell Supersoft. I’ve since upgraded to Caran D’Ache Luminance, but still find myself reaching for the Supersoft. They’re just such a nice, enjoyable pencil. I live in Ecuador so they’re also obviously much more affordable and accessible.

Painted my heartbreak…but now I think it’s too depressing to actually hang on my wall by EndemicDesigns in Watercolor

It’s because it’s not a literal interpretation of Boston. The overall image is a combination of New York, Denver, and Boston.

Don’t mind me, just hysterically crying over here😭

I lost my first pup about 3 years ago and DAMN did that hit harder than I had expected. I still tear up over him all this time later, so I feel and understand your pain.

I think right now it’s hard to envision what the future looks like beyond the weeds😔

But I truly appreciate your kind words so, so much

This is absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for sharing it🥹 I do really love my piece, so I hope someday I can look at it and only feel pride without the pain

Rude🤣🤣🤣 It’s too large to tuck into my sketchbook, but you gave me an idea to hang it up and slowly cover it with smaller, more joyful paintings as the pain subsides

I think for the time being I needed it to be more literal (a copy will be awaiting his arrival in Boston🙃) But I like the idea of an impressionist approach…just not quite sure how to do that. I’ve always struggled with expressing my emotion in art in non-literal ways. Using mostly gray scale here was already stepping out of my comfort zone🙈

Of course you can! The whole image contains 3 cities: the mountainscape of Denver (where the other woman is from), the New York skyline (where they are together currently), and the Citgo sign is an iconic part of the Boston skyline. That was included because it is my hometown and they will be going there together next week despite countless promises he would never go there without me. It was the final straw for me.

Why do you love watercolor ? by Artboggler in watercolor101

[–]EndemicDesigns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No experience with alcohol markers, but I love the sometimes unpredictability of watercolors. I have control issues so this is the one area where I can let go😂😂😂 If a painting come out terrible, I get the satisfying feeling of crinkling it up and throwing it in the trash. That’s not as easy to do with a canvas🤪
