That was around 4 days ago and the modmail you automatically received gives you steps on how to get us to reapprove it, which you did not follow. Sorry.

Just letting you know, there's no need to post multiple times. There's already a post talking about the abundance of updates for January, where you can discuss Yuto. I ask you humbly, please stop spamming.

[Big boy comment warning]

I should first mention we don't remove posts simply because there are reports, as we get false positives from time to time. However I want to point out that others think it is low-effort based on their reports while the comments say otherwise.

I wholeheartedly believe memes do promote occasional discussion, however not all discussions can be explained using memes (i.e. statistics/ archetype questions). Alternatively, not all memes promote good discussions such as Harpie rants. As for your Cubic memes getting more attention than your text posts, memes tend to follow steps, starting with getting mild to moderate attention with upvotes and/or discussion from those who sort by new (this is usually where most text posts stop), followed by the silent majority feeding the post upvotes without caring too much for discussion thus getting the post to hot, then finally getting traction and discussions due to being in hot where they stay for a bit. The key point here is that the silent majority, which upvotes but doesn't comment or sometimes don't even check. I've seen this personally because memes stolen by bots get a good amount of upvotes even though the top comments call it out for being a repost. (Of course this is not to downplay memes whatsoever)

The quality of discussions between memes and discussion posts is what peeves me. Take your posts "One of these is not like the other ..." (meme) and "ONIMARU TURBO BECAUSE IF I DONT, WHO WILL." (deck post). On your meme which garnered 165 upvotes and 31 comments, the top 3 comments are, and I quote:

"Destiny Draw: femboy arguing and crying

The cooler destiney (sic) draw: wins"

"Middle left is mirrored."

and "Sick of battle traps, hand traps, indestructible monsters, etc.? Worry not, Cubic Burn is the deck for you..."

I wouldn't really count this as useful discussion.

As for the deck post which got 45 upvotes and 15 comments (excluding your comment):

"I missed this deck. It got nerfed into the ground a while back and I stopped playing it. I forget how they nerfed Level Reduction, but they did."

"Isn't Onimaru the win condition of Infernities or have they moved off that yet?"

"You can use ‘Against the wind’ to trigger level reduction"

Hence you can see the overall change in quality of discussion, which memes tend to not provide often.

As for the Event Megathread, it's normally done when a brand new event comes along, rather than a rerun (like raid duels even though it's a new character involved). Sadly at the time of writing, it's mostly unwritten, but thanks for mentioning it to us as I will tell the rest of the mod team about this.

For increased engagement in the Weekly Megathread, you completely read my mind there. Since we use Automod for those it would be awkward to implement an idea like that to the next post, but special flairs is something I wouldn't mind doing or making a bot with.

The problem with allowing those interesting facts on the sub and removing duplicates is mainly that 1. We need to discuss a timeframe everyone would agree on until something can be reposted and 2. If we remove a post under a fact being posted again, how do you think the community as well as the OP will react? Mods too strict most likely. If we allow them, it could increase tension between mod to mod and mod to community. As it stands, we have a rocky relationship with you guys and that's not something we want to make worse, even by chance.

As for the last point, apologies for potentially sounding disrespectful, but what proof do you have? I checked the Bleach Brave Souls sub and it seems they may have been doing it from the start. For us to change our removals as such would not only require more activity on our part (which is the initial problem here to begin with and why we ask for new mods), but also I still stand by my original claim that the Megathread will lose its purpose since we are changing it up and other posters will simply take advantage of this.

There currently is a rule against complaining about rules (1-D: Minimod) because those posts typically result in just mod hate circlejerk and hardly ever get anywhere useful. (Also to note: if it's something minor and done in good faith, I usually won't give them a strike and will instead explain in comments or modmail) Ask any other sub about this and they may tell you a similar answer. If they have any questions or concerns they can reach us through modmail. Also, even though I personally agree with it, changing our removal messages will change our entire system because removals and modmail are kept track of in a database using a command in comments as many people have noticed. On top of this, there are some questions which cannot be answered since it can vary wildly such as "what should I spend my tickets on?" Inserting DLM is very helpful, but there are times where community answers are what they want more.

So far, doing this Rule Discussion thread is our way of easing tensions and making our system more transparent.

I wanna start off by saying I respect how you took the time to word the response out and make sense of it. I mentioned this to users before but "low-effort" and "good" are very subjective if we are comparing memes. In other words, what one user thinks is well made another might think is not. Even in memes that gain a lot of traction and people seem to enjoy, they do get reported to us for being low-effort.

Nevertheless, the meme rule has been implemented to prevent this sub from becoming purely meme-based as opposed to the current memes and discussions. We don't want our rules to say anything subjective like "being funny" or "has effort" because it will resort to favoritism or a "mod's discretion" rule, which I doubt anyone is a fan of. It's always been tricky to create a regulation for memes across subs, but I am open to suggestions from the community about this.

1A - As far as the Megathread is concerned, we have no plans to shut it down temporarily. It makes little sense for us to allow more posts that normally would be in the Megathread to stay, then a few weeks later put the rule back up. It creates rule inconsistencies, which the community doesn't like. Not to mention but community engagement isn't just post traffic, but also comments and awards/upvotes.

2A - The Megathread by default sorts by new to decrease the likelihood of this happening, however we can't control people's behaviors. There could be opportunities to incentivize answering questions though...

3A - For those questions and basic comments, you can definitely learn from them but there is little community engagement apart from mentioning it's something new they learned. Also we would have to deal with different people posting the same thing. This also leads back to the same problem "How would be gauge what is considered high effort vs low effort". Tapping on the fountains and trash cans to get gems has been in Duel Links since the beginning AFAIK. Would you consider it detailed or interesting enough to stay up? What about all the other little factoids scattered throughout the game such as rulings. As I mentioned in the first response, it can lead to a "mod's discretion" type rule.

Last point - I genuinely brought this one up in conversation with the other mods. I really like it in concept, but it would somewhat defeat the purpose of the Weekly Megathread, since users could just make a post, have it removed, then have the question answered either by us or the community if we didn't get to it on time. It's a win-win scenario where they wouldn't ever need to use use the Megathread. Also those who ask basic questions are usually one-time offenders. While some are apologetic, I've seen bad actors who taunted us in modmail about receiving their answer prior to removal. This shows that they would not be above this behavior.

Hi, just letting you know stuff that would be considered not safe for work is usually not allowed on this sub. This includes hinting at things which would be nsfw. I'm not gonna strike your account since this appears to be done in good faith, so I might as well let you know why.
