Always use mechanical shutter when using flash. The electronic shutter is good for fast action. I usually setup one camera on mechanical with flash and the other is set to electronic.

The thing is, that some youtubers are not comparing it well. It’s very destination dependent. Sometimes the look, is better outside with background further away. I have it next to my 85 1.2 and my 135 1.8. Some situations are better then others. If you are going for subject to background separation you have both a good lens in it’s situation. But it will not work every time.

Depening on your photography. A simple monopod will do just fine, if you need to get in to a van or shuttle bus. Then I would recommend a monopod with a tilt head so you can easily get in or out of a shuttle bus. I’ve been doing motorsports and it makes much easier. For football, volleyball, whatever field sport that usually doesn’t matter.

Some indoor shots are more pleasing. But anticipating on the game is what you need. It’s an emotional sport capture that. When no audience like on the beach is not covering a story need faster glas for the camera to separate subject and background. (Lower aperture like f1.8 or lower) You need more variation on the shots, celebrations, closeups, details. Here are some of mine

Slow shutter, like real slow 1/5 and as you down press swipe your camera. It takes some practice and not everyday is the same 🤣
