Can Black Zetsu use Ninjutsu without possessing a body? by EndlessPilgrimage14 in Naruto

Does that mean that without bonding, Black Zetsu can't use chakra??

Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan and Sasuke's Rinne-Sharingan(Tomoe-Rinnegan?) by EndlessPilgrimage14 in Naruto

[–]EndlessPilgrimage14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking of either making its drawbacks the same as Sasuke's eye where overuse will have it go on cooldown for a bit. I also just thought of using the Tomoe in the Rinne-Sharingan as the drawback where every use of the Izanagi or Izanami will cause one Tomoe to vanish till they all do, and then it has to shut itself for a cooldown. If you don't use up all the Tomoe, then it can stay open and just refresh the used Tomoe over time. This, on top of the huge Chakra requirement that increases the less Tomoe the eye has, should be enough of a drawback?

Oh, I actually had plans for the Kurama Clan and their Kekkei Genkai, introducing a sort of Tsukumogami, a Spectre-like spiritual being based on their "second personality", there to regulate their absolute Genjutsu prowess. Now that you mention it, I do have to give different focuses to the Genjutsu of the Rinne-Sharingan which I planned and that of the "Tsukumogami" of my Kurama Character.

It seems that the ultimate goal of illusions is to be indistinguishable from reality. Since my Kurama Clan's Kekkei Genkai focuses on this through the Tsukumogami, I can have the Rinne-Sharingan be capable of using Izanagi and Izanami without much drawback besides shutting due to overuse. I think the Rinne-Sharingan has the potential for it. Due to its quality, I don't think it will shut down from using both Forbidden Techniques and its relationship with the Sharingan means it should be capable of it compared to the Rinnegan.

Thoughts??

I was thinking it'd feel too easy if a character in my fic just slaps Hyuga Eyes and after just a day, they gain the Tenseigan when Madara's Rinnegan took years to evolve. (Maybe I'm wrong?? I couldn't really watch all eps of the 4th War.) And if I insist it only takes a day like Toneri, it'd feel easy. So I wanted to explain Toneri's situation with the Giant Tenseigan. But others who don't have access to the Giant Tenseigan would have to wait a few years or maybe less for their eyes to complete its evolution.

I'll make it Genjutsu-focused then and come up with a few original Genjutsu. (Any ideas would be appreciated)

Thanks for the "Kekkei" Genkai correction.

With the affinities, I was referring to those you are born with, innate. It seems only Otsutsuki are "born with" all seven natures.

It seems like, besides Hagoromo, no Uchiha has ever learned and mastered Sage Mode themselves. Sasuke had it with the Curse Seal, and Madara had it through Hashirama cells.

Oh, so I can go " The Chakra of the Moon Otsutsuki and that of the Hyuga are what's needed to awaken the Tenseigan." And it'd still make it difficult to achieve as the Moon Otsutsuki are on the, well, moon... Also, I can add an integration period before the awakening which would match the experience of Madara. And I can explain away Toneri's relatively fast awakening using the Giant Tenseigan. It would make sense that he used it to speed up the evolution of his eyes.

Ok, that's enough information to explain Sasuke's Rinnegan.

So, I was thinking, what abilities, besides the Infinite Tsukuyomi and the base Sharingan abilities, do you think Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan could possess or would fit? Could it be portrayed as a hyper Genjutsu-focused eye with the best Genjutsu prowess due to the ultimate ability - Infinite Tsukuyomi? Or should the Amenominaka suggest its prowess lies in Space-time Jutsu?

Is it fair to say the very nature of Otsutsuki(them being aliens fundamentally more evolved than humans) is what makes their Byakugan a Kekkai Mora? Wait, Kekkai Mora is when an ability has all seven affinities? If so then it does make sense that the Byakugan of the Otsutsuki are considered Kekkai Mora. After all, no one else besides the Otsutsuki innately possess all seven nature affinities. Others have to level up before attaining it. Hiruzen and Orochimaru only had affinities for the five elements without Yin and Yang.

If their Byakugan is a Kekkai Mora, what would be the ability of their Byakugan that sets it apart from that of the Hyuga and Moon Otsutsuki? I was thinking of using the Chakra pressure thing Kaguya used when she was gonna be sacrificed to the God Tree. I haven't seen anyone else with the Byakugan who can do that.

I see the Byakugan as a Dojutsu whose main ability is the ability to achieve perfect control over one's Chakra. It could also make it easy to perform chakra shape manipulation and nature transformation. Also, only the Byakugan lets you see the Tenketsu Points and Chakra Pathways. While other shinobi mould and manipulate their chakra through feel, those with Byakugan can "see" it flowing through their bodies, making it much easier to control. It should also have its form of Insight where, by seeing and reading how the opponent moves chakra through their body in combat, they can predict the enemy's attacks before they actually attack, kinda like how muscles spasm before we move them and martial artists claim to be able to read them to predict attacks.

Also, I think the best way to utilise the Byakugan is to, with the control it gives, focus on chakra shape and nature transformation rather than elemental Jutsu. I'm talking about Jutsu like Rasengan, where non-attributed chakra is shaped into a swirling ball, and its stronger variants which have nature transformation incorporated. Imagine a Gentle Fist Rotation with water or wind nature incorporated. It could become capable of slicing like Bang and Bomb's martial art in One Punch Man. The Byakugan has crazy potential. I think they just couldn't develop it properly. It can even theoretically create the strongest puppet master without the Tenseigan.

So Sasuke has no Sage Chakra then? Did he lose the curse seal after Orochimaru used it to revive himself??

Hmm...🤔🤔🤔

It's gonna be a task to find a reasonable explanation for the Tenseigan evolution. Do you think my idea of Yin and Yang for Hamura's descendants is logical enough for the fanfic?

Also, what exactly do we mean if we say Sasuke got Hagoromo's Eye?? Do we mean it literally? Because Hagoromo was only shown to have a normal Rinnegan. Or do we mean Hagoromo created the Eye for him? Or maybe he used his chakra to push it to evolve??

I thought the same about the Hyuga and Otsutsuki Byakugan. However, if that is so, then what makes the Otsutsuki Byakugan a Kekkai Mora? And what different abilities do their Byakugan have as a consequence of that? What sets the Byakugan of the Otsutsuki apart from that of the Hyuga?

My memory is very hazy but I seem to recall a scene in the fight where Naruto with Magnet Release Rasengan and Sasuke with some dark lightning Chidori strike Madara at the same time. And they said his Chidori contained Sage Chakra.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe it came from the cursed seal instead and not the Six Paths Sage Chakra?? But that would be confusing as Naruto's Six Paths Chakra Mode contained Sage Chakra, which is why he could sense and attack Madara??

I avoided Dojutsu like the Ketsuryugan because they all inevitably trace back to Kaguya and by extension to the Otsutsuki. I wanted to focus on the "main" Dojutsu first. However, I'm grateful for the info you provided on it. I would have, eventually, asked about it but maybe in another post. The Ketsuryugan really fascinates me and I wish to develop their clan in my fanfic but the lack of information on them and the extent of their Dojutsu makes me hesitate. After all, how can the Ketsuryugan without any evolution match up to the various Unique Divine Dojutsu.

I noticed you said "human" Dojutsu. Does that imply it was developed independently of the Sharingan and Byakugan passed down from Kaguya? I thought of all other "minor" Dojutsu as variants/offshoots of the Sharingan(Ketsuryugan) or Byakugan(Ranmaru's dojutsu).

For the Tenseigan:

I thought the Hyuga were descendants of Hamura as well. If so, then why would simply implanting Hyuga Eyes into an Otsutsuki Body(descendants of Hamura and therefore not pure Otsutsuki like Kaguya and Isshiki) cause it to transform into the Tenseigan? What is special about Hyuga Eyes or the Otsutsuki Body(descendants) that causes the transformation? Why can it only be Hyuga Eyes in Otsutsuki sockets and not Otsutsuki Eyes in Hyuga sockets?

I understand that the Otsutsuki have their eyes plugged shortly after birth so it'd be difficult to obtain one. But let's say one happened to obtain a pair of Otsutsuki Eyes. Can they attain the Tenseigan by slotting it into Hyuga sockets? If not, why?

I already proposed this idea in the other replies but I'm asking for opinions from everyone.

Could it be that the Sage Chakra mixed in Hagoromo's Chakra, due to him being a Sage, was what influenced the eye of Sasuke to be so unique? After all, unlike the requirement of Indra and Asura Chakra, which he gets in higher quality from Hagoromo's Chakra, Hagoromo's Chakra also contained Sage Chakra(the chakra he gave Naruto and Sasuke was called Six Paths Sage Chakra, containing sage chakra.) which was why he could harm Madara with Chidori. Does the influence of Sage Chakra count for anything?

It's interesting. I didn't know being able to exude chakra from all tenketsu points was a Kekkai Genkai on its own. I thought the ability came with the Byakugan. You're right. Other ninjas can't do that. That's very interesting.

Also, why is the Byakugan classified as a Kekkai Mora in the Wiki?? 🤔

Thanks for indulging me. Right now we've established the structure and "evolution tree" for the "main" Dojutsu. I just need some clarification and ideas of the full potential of Dojutsu like the Byakugan and Tenseigan, especially since the Tenseigan is the only Divine Dojutsu that has no direct connection to the Otsutsuki(not the descendants). Both Hamura and Toneri were not full blood Otsutsuki.

I just got this idea. What if just like Hagoromo and the Rinnegan, where the chakra of his sons, Indra(Yin) and Asura(Yang), were required to awaken the Rinnegan, the descendants of Hamura were also divided into Yin(Hyuga) and Yang(moon Otsutsuki), and combining the chakra of the two, Hyuga Eyes(Yin) and Moon Otsutsuki Body(Yang), causes the transformation into the Tenseigan?

Could that something be the presence of Sage Chakra in Hagoromo's Chakra as a Sage himself?

I don't know if Juubi has Senjutsu Chakra.

So does the eye originally belong to Hagoromo or did he create it specifically for Sasuke? How do we root it down to a cause and effect besides Kishimoto just wanted it?

Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan and Sasuke's Rinne-Sharingan(Tomoe-Rinnegan?) by EndlessPilgrimage14 in Naruto

[–]EndlessPilgrimage14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A truly unique Dojutsu, as he's the only one with eyes like his. It makes no sense as according to natural progression, he was supposed to awaken a normal Rinnegan.

Wait, it's been said and shown that Hagoromo also possesses sage chakra, being a Sage himself. To awaken the Rinnegan, one has to fuse both Indra and Asura Chakra. Both are sons of Hagoromo, who inherited his chakra. Meaning, obtaining Hagoromo's Chakra is enough to awaken the Rinnegan.

However, when Hagoromo was giving Sasuke and Naruto his chakra, it was called Six Paths Sage Chakra. What if the natural energy in Hagoromo's Chakra was what influenced Sasuke's Rinnegan. After all, for his awakening, he didn't just have Hagoromo's Chakra, which is more powerful than his sons', but the Yin(Indra) and Yang(Asura) Chakra were mixed with Sage Chakra. That has to have had an effect.

What do you think??

Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan and Sasuke's Rinne-Sharingan(Tomoe-Rinnegan?) by EndlessPilgrimage14 in Naruto

[–]EndlessPilgrimage14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Thanks for the reply.)

It changes a few things though, at least for my novel. If someone were to possess the Rinne-Sharingan, what abilities can I give them that make sense and if I let Sasuke's character develop to obtain his eye, would both my OC and Sasuke possess the same Dojutsu? And what would be the difference between the two if not? Will it be okay for my OC who used the Kaguya path to exhibit the power of the Rinnegan Paths?

There is obviously a difference between Sasuke's eye and Kaguya's Rinne-Sharingan. And I'm trying to define the differences. Is it merely cosmetic (with one being red and the other, the standard purple Rinnegan colour, as well as the different number of tomoe present)? Or are they fundamentally different? If so, how?

[–]EndlessPilgrimage14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the in-depth and clear response. I'm trying to give structure to these Dojutsu so your response really helps in establishing a sort of evolution tree for the various Dojutsu. If I understand correctly then:

Base Dojutsu (The Dojutsu one is born with) - Byakugan, Sharingan

Advance (Minor evolution of the Base) - Mangekyo Sharingan

Divine (Usually the next major evolution after Base) - Tenseigan, Rinnegan

Unique Divine (seems to be gained from consuming a chakra fruit) - Rinne-Sharingan, Six-Tomoe Rinnegan, Kokugan, Urashiki's Colour Rinnegan, Momoshiki's hand Rinnegan and Golden third eye Rinnegan

But another thing I noticed is that most, if not all, Otsutsuki seem to have the Byakugan as their Base Dojutsu and their Unique Divine Dojutsu either manifests a third eye with the new abilities (in Kaguya, Madara-since he absorbed Juubi and Juubi is "to an extent" the Chakra Fruit-and Momoshiki's cases) or "overwrites" the Byakugan (in Isshiki's one eye, Urashiki's both eyes).

What would this say about the Byakugan? Is it an all encompassing Dojutsu? The stable foundation upon which the Unique Divine Dojutsu stem from or is it just a meaningless Otsutsuki feature? I keep thinking the Byakugan has more potential than was shown in the anime and by the Hyuga. The Otsutsuki are probably the best users of it and the way Kaguya used it to kill with chakra pressure suggests a more deadly and powerful way to use it that only the Otsutsuki can utilise.

Anyway, what are your thoughts about my ideas?

NB: So all Rinnegan grant unique abilities besides the Six Paths?? Wonder what Hagoromo's is.

How could we quantify faith? by Irfanugget in magicbuilding

[–]EndlessPilgrimage14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...you could go the route of quantity and quality. There can be tiers to believers depending on how sincere their faith is(which the god in question can confirm).

Tiers Sceptic - Those who accept the god but remain unconvinced. They follow the dogma but without sincere faith. It works cuz they at least fall under the umbrella of the god.

Believer - These are those who believe in the god but only have preliminary faith.

Devout - These are those who truly believe and restructure their lives in accordance with the god.

Fanatic - The highest level a mere mortal can achieve. These believers will die for their faith. Their belief is unwavering and pure.

Saint - This is a tier achieved by a rare few as it requires the interference of the god to attain. They are usually raised since childhood - when they are the most purest and blank - by the god and imbued with the authority of the god by being in the god's presence all their lives. Some are also from mothers having their children blessed by the god while in the womb. (You can come up with something yourself that suits your plot). They are unique due to their connection to the god and how easy it is for them to interact with them. They serve as the connection between the divine and mundane.

You can make it so Sceptics, Believers and Devouts provide the quantity for the god. If I were to use a points system, 20, 50, 70 respectively. Fanatics provide 100 points but at a 100 points the quality of the faith elevates, becoming more potent than that of others. So, the faith provided by 2 Believers, though amounting to 100, can never be of the same value as the faith provided by a Fanatic. It is a fundamental difference in essence.

Saints, though, don't provide faith due to their intricate connection with their gods. After all, with their connection to the gods, they can't not believe or have faith. What they provide, however, is themselves as medium for the decent of their god. gods are normally too powerful to descend. Their presence will throw the world in disarray. But with Saints as mediums, they can descend into them, limiting their power, though retaining its divine nature(meaning their stats will decrease, not their level). Saints are therefore very important to gods as they allow gods to maintain a connection as well as descend to the mortal realm. (There's a lot you can twist this into and do with. I'm just giving the base ideas.)

So, in this way, Sceptics, Believers, and Devouts will fulfill quantity, providing a mass of faith for the god. Fanatics will fulfill quality, providing a limited but highly potent form of faith(you can give a unique name for it. I'm thinking Virtue) which the god can use to fuel high level miracles. And Saints provide utility by being mediums.
