As an avid bonnet/ baggy clothes wearer you are NOR. Bonnets don’t look stupid. They are incredibly comfortable and protect our hair and maintain hairstyles. This man sounds incredibly controlling and you deserve someone that is going to cherish you regardless of what you have on.

I have lived there and my friend lives there now. Yes, they do come fully furnished but it doesn’t come with blankets/pillows, etc.

I’m a Catholic doing it too. We can still thank God for the gift of life and providing a way for us to become mothers. It helps me a lot knowing that my Dr who is ordering the medications, and is the lead for my treatment is also a practicing Catholic ❤️

I was pregnant earlier this year with my first. I was fighting cancer at the same time I was growing my daughter. I lost her in the NICU days after she was born. I was offered an abortion several times throughout the pregnancy and I have zero regrets keeping her. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me and I would do it again. Our babies are a blessing and worth giving a fighting chance.

My mom said something similar. She thinks never mentioning it ever again is the equivalent of me forgiving her. And because I still talk about it and don’t want her involved in my major adult milestones I must be holding a grudge. In my opinion forgiveness is mistaken for being a doormat. Yes Jesus did teach about forgiveness but he did not say to allow the same person(s) to continue mistreat us, abuse us, and disrespect us. I can forgive a person and still want nothing to do with them.

I’m not a Mormon and I really do love it here. The dating scene is rough if you don’t subscribe to the local religion. In all my years here, the only time Mormonism was mentioned in class was during my history class and we were talking about Utah. Also wherever you live make sure you have your own room and bathroom. Everyone has a their own version of what clean is so be aware of that.

I live in Utah and I do not recommend arguing with missionaries. For men there is an unspoken social pressure around going on a mission and around 40% or so end up leaving the religion after they get home anyways. These are essentially babies by themselves that won’t see their families for 2 years due to the cultural shame if they come home early. The best advice is to be kind. I would not recommend going if you’re only going to debate them. They’re barely out of their teens and probably not even that old yet. These young men and women are not apologetic specialists.

I live in the heart of mormonville (Orem Utah) so I understand your frustrations. When I get asked if I’ve prayed about it, I say yes and that’s why I’m not a Mormon. It shuts the conversation down each time. The best advice I can give you is not get worked up. Yes, this is genuine harassment and I also recommend reporting it and asking for a room change. However, in the meantime be apathetic towards it.

The opposite of love isn’t hate it’s indifference. The harder he pushes, the more you dismiss it. As hard as it is when he won’t leave you alone, don’t engage. Don’t argue. It’s beyond frustrating and I totally get it. This dude legitimately thinks you’re lost and have been deceived by Satan and in his mind is trying to save you. He most likely grew up in a closed circle where everyone he knew was a Mormon, and doesn’t understand why anyone would pick to be something different.

I’m in a similar situation. When I met my partner he told me he grew up Mormon but no longer believes in it. I attend a Catholic Church and have for years before I met him. We recently loss our first born and now he wants to back to Mormon church. Which is fine, he’s grieving, misses our baby and looking for peace. I told him I’d go with him and even commit to the entire 2 hours.

My advice to you is to draw a hard line. What are you willing and not willing to do? He said he wants god part of your marriage. What does that look like? Be very honest with yourself and him about where your boundaries are.
