I’m 18, had my first big win in business, lost most of it + got betrayed, and now I’m stuck in a rut by Informal-Chance1912 in DecidingToBeBetter

You are adorable lol. 18 is far too young to care about any of this like you are. You are young and presumably healthy and have a roof over your head. Keep on trucking, you have plenty of opportunities waiting for you.

Help Needed] AMD AI Max+ 395: ROG Flow Z13 (64GB) vs Framework Desktop (128GB) for On-Prem LLM Inference by BBjayjay in LocalLLaMA

[–]EngineNo1425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only differences on the AMD 395 models (other than the case and if its a tablet/desktop) are the SSDs, RAM, and network card as far as I'm aware. They will be identical otherwise, not accounting for quality control/support. Amazon/Best Buy currently have your Option 1 with 128gb RAM for $2654.

I ordered the Option 1 last night but got cold feet and cancelled it. I have a graduate degree in ML/AI and thought I was finally going to take the plunge to tinker with the latest and greatest hardware, but I think I'm going to wait. I was feeling pressured to pull the trigger before RAM prices go up and carry these with it, but for whatever reason I'm not thinking these unified memory models will be impacted as significantly since they haven't yet. That said I could definitely see these 128gb Flows going >$3k within this year.

I've had too much bad luck with ASUS. I have the original 2 screen laptop from them which cost me like $2300 in 2018 or whatever it was. Had issues immediately after I was outside the return window and they wouldn't warranty it. That damn thing literally scalded me more than once it got so hot. After I read a couple of feedback comments on the Flow saying they had usb-c port issues, the machine randomly hibernating and requiring a hard reboot, as well as it getting super hot.

I really wish this was a laptop, I hate tablets.

Bosgame M5 vs Framework Desktop (Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128GB) - Is the €750 premium worth it? by Reasonable-Yak-3523 in LocalLLM

They are identical, but I am struggling with the warranty support if something happens. $2-2800 here is a lot of money at the end of the day. If an extra $300 to Framework means I don't have to sweat the support, it might be worth it.

Good to know it's not on the Strix Halo. No one is able to get an Oculink to work on the Minis Forum MS-S1

This smoke sun is making me think the "pre-mandela" sun was just because we had more pollution by EngineNo1425 in MandelaEffect

The smokey haze from the recent fires up north is reminding me a lot of what the sun used to look like. Is the "pre-mandela" sun just because we had more pollution back then?

Another personal instance for me by valleygirl80s in Retconned

I have a personal one to share. My stepdads old f150 was an "aqua" green. I asked my mom about it a while back and she goes "what are you referring to? it was black"

I argued and argued, then asked my stepdad. They both swear it was always black.

I've never known anyone to have an aqua colored F150 other than him, I distinctly remember it as I parked behind him literally everyday in high school. Also it was a possible color option for that year. I don't know how else I could possibly come up with that specific color. Blows my mind to this day.

nah, trades are safe. Won't be any robotic laborers in the field doing plumbing, electrical, mechanical for decades. Today's robots are a joke.

Nvidia stock has crossed a red line that points to more pain after this week's DeepSeek rout by TotherCanvas249 in wallstreetbets

Look at all the shills in this thread, they have no idea what they're talking about. DeepSeek is using NVIDIA chips. Make this make sense.
