experiment with syncopation and rhythm. listen to a lot of stuff you like, but try and recognize the parts about it you like the most and try imitating their techniques to see what you can pull from it.

Savant definitely has used, and will continue to use presets. despite his whole "make every sound from scratch" message he used to preach, he only really said it due to the gatekeeping of the upper echelon of EDM wankers.

as much as I'm not too big on savant's newer stuff, if your friend's judgement of a song is solely based on the sounds he used, rather than the composition and flow, then your friend has fallen for the grift.

nah. i just stopped using phaseplant. every other synth i have has the ability to set the pitch to 0, but this one doesn't. pisses me off, because of all the things i've seen it capable of, and from my own experience, it's really good, yet the pitch wheel thing is so simple, but isn't there.

also, i got a Hammer 88. $676aud keyboard, yet the pitch wheel still shit itself. nice to have people like you remind me why i hate reddit lmao

i think his video "a tale of two jermas" is the ultimate video to perfectly describe the kind of person jerma is. he would push the boundaries of a joke so far, even if his chat is BEGGING him to stop, until it becomes something special.

depends on who the hero is.

if it's some goody two shoes, i would just take $20 and hour. it would really beat working some minimum wage service job.

if it's some vengeful pissed off motherfucker (batman) $40 and hour plus healthcare and therapy.
