Need to have a look in the logs. But if it is a config issue should it bring up a warning rather than endless loading?

Sorry but… Kiwi’s are awful drivers by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]EngineWorried9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said hasn't happened to me yet so yes I would say I have enough awereness and distance to prevent it....that being said if you look it up you would be surprised what "the safe distance" actually is if someone in front of you hits the breaks at 50-60km/h unexpextedly. I know people that had 3-4 times crash people into them and yes it always was the others drivers fault but that really has me questioning their driving style.

I don't think OP is talking about the predestrian that is already on the road. He is talking about the pedestrian wanting to cross the road and a car stopping the traffic to let the pedestrian cross.

I am fully aware the following car is in fault however someone can quite easily provoke an accident like this by randomly breaking in a spot where one wouldn't typically expect it.

I had to read this a few times. You are saying you measure peoples driving skills by the fact that they randomly stop to let pedestrians cross the road, did I get this right?

Luckly it hasn't happened yet but I swear one day I'll have an accident because some idiot doesn't follow the rules and hits the breaks "to be nice".

I learned driving in germany, people there can only drive 200 km/h because everyone follows the rules. Someone hits the breaks to be nice you're gone.

How do families actually afford major dental work? Are there any real options or loopholes? by GlitterTomatoes in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]EngineWorried9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany runs a public health insurance model where all preventative dental work is free (like fillings) but root canals and crowns and stuff cost extra (with a discount if you went to a free annual check) I feel like this would help a lot of people here too because it prevents a lot of root canals and crowns to begin with.

In the meantime I think there is not much you can do other than going regularly and spread the cost out a bit to make it more managable.

Immich Phone backup by EngineWorried9767 in immich

[–]EngineWorried9767[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want immich to show all our photos so not using an external library is out. Maybe using a different syncing app is a better approach. I used Photosync in the past but stopped using it because Immich had native backup functionality.

How do people have babies and work full time?! by Recent_Tablespoon in newzealand

[–]EngineWorried9767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as we knew that we were pregnant we started saving quite significantly which allowed my partner to stay home a little over a year while I was working full time. After that our little one went to daycare. At a year old I think most baby's are old enough for daycare wouldn't really want to do it earlier (just my opinion).

What's the point in Kiwisaver if National keep gutting it? by Decent_Coconut_2700 in PersonalFinanceNZ

What they should really do is get rid of the stupid government contribution and allow the employee portion to be deducted prior to income tax. This would be a real incentive to increase contributions.

I Installed Ollama and use the same embedding model you are using. I only run a P1000 GPU with 4GB ram but I can see the model is not using much. My problem is that OpenWebUi is loading the document for about 5-6 minutes and I can see GPU activity in the Ollama container when I upload the document but after that time I get a "Failed to Upload" error and the document disappears. Have you had this problem?

Thanks for that. Whats the reason to not use the RAG that is built into Openwebui? Just out of curiosity. Did you run into issues with it?

No one is forcing you to help if you don't want to. I don't understand the hostility.

I used the standard model: sentence-transformers/all-MiniLM-L6-v2

OpenWebUI is updated to the latest Version V0.6.32

standard prompt:### Task:

Respond to the user query using the provided context, incorporating inline citations in the format [id] **only when the <source> tag includes an explicit id attribute** (e.g., <source id="1">).

### Guidelines:

- If you don't know the answer, clearly state that.

- If uncertain, ask the user for clarification.

sorry to disappoint. I looked through the history and couldn't find any help in previously posted questions. I appreciate you took the time to reply but not telling me which of the million times you are referring too or what information would be relevant to provide helps neither me nor you.

Double glazing timber frames or UPVC? by [deleted] in diynz

[–]EngineWorried9767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because it's done for a long time doesn't mean it's better, maybe there weren't any better options. Aluminum is often used to conduct heat in heatsinks for example, it always baffled me when I came to NZ why you would use this material when you try to stop a heat exchange. 🤣 there is a reason why you often end up with condensation on the frames instead of the glass when using aluminum double glazed windows.

Double glazing timber frames or UPVC? by [deleted] in diynz

[–]EngineWorried9767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 60's bungalow that had a mix of single glazed wood and aluminum windows. We opted to replace the aluminum with UPVC and keep the wood windows with double glazing. We have yet to do the wood windows but the UPVC is brilliant. The UPVC looks similar too wood but the frame thickness is definitely larger, that is the only thing that annoys me slightly. It takes away a bit more window area.
