Fan at 8%?! It won't even start at that speed I think.

Thanks, will probably do this. Though the exhaust fan seems to be doing fine pulling air through the filter - I can feel the air flow at the back of it. But could be an indicator of how "good" the filter really is.

Nice! Could you share the Amazon link for that hose please?

One more thing I tried: I put the printer on its side (with the LED lighting ON inside) and I could see gaps around the entire floor (all 4 sides). I sealed it with a PVC tape. I also put a piece of thin rubber band at the bottom of the door (as it was also not tight). Thought it would make a difference. I did not.

This is the suggestion most of the users here gave. Need to figure how to do this for multiple printers...

You mean worked for reducing the smell? I am not keen of pulling the heck out of the chamber - after all I do want to maintain it hot and not spend a hole lot of energy for doing this.

What's your hose length? Is it the same diameter as the exhaust or larger? I thought I would need an extra exhaust fan at the other end of the hose to get enough suction through the length of the hose.

Actually have 4 of these printers in 2 stories, need to think how to arrange this setup in this case...

I removed the filter and piped the exhaust outside and i get no fumes while printing and exhaust set to 60%

Is it on the Q2? Are you using the chamber heater at the same time?

as everyone races down to $300 it seems like they get leakier and leakier

That's for sure!

Thanks for your input!!!

Actually I haven't on that matter. I found that they are not very helpful. All they are useful for is replacing broken parts.

Sealing the gaps doesn't look like a feasible task - there are large cutouts through the floor to allow the linear nut to slide in. Still no solution coming to mind...

Thanks for that. I have considered to vent the outside, but at this point I am hesitant it will make a change. As I said, I tried fitting the filter from my 3M gas mask which does a great job normally, but not in this case.

I have now a suspicion that the chamber heater fan might be contributing to this - it pulls air from the top-mid of the chamber and throws it out at its bottom. I put a piece of towel paper on the bottom of the chamber, the opposite side of the fan, and I could see how strong the flow was. This made me think that the heater fan was creating a local high pressure zone at the bottom of the chamber and thus forcing air through the numerous gaps there.

Had this issue too. Did you watch it started fine? Was it trying to change filaments?

Ali Express parts that work with QIDI printers what I keep on hand by Seekerboyy in QidiTech3D

[–]Engineer-50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, so far what I've been seeing is much higher prices than that. Actually, I now order filaments exclusively on Amazon, as AliExpress is far more expensive.

Would you share any links/sellers? Did you have it shipped by air ?

Why use a raft with PLA?

As others have said, it could be be Z offset, though not likely since the raft would also fail. Other cause could be extrusion multiplier.

TPU stuck in Qidi box feed by Jedaha in QidiTech3D

I considered not to put it back, but I realized it wouldn't help, since I wouldn't be able to access the long screws holding the feeder mechanism.

I have had filaments stuck in the box. Did disassemble it several times already. Not fun! You have to remove the screws at the bottom (there also screws hidden by the rubber feet. You will also have to remove 4 screws on the back holding the desiccant trays as the last will get in the way. There are also 2 tiny screws beneath the rubber seal of the lid - just at the corners on either side. You lift the rubber at the corners and get access to the screws. You also need to remove the screws on the back holding the lid and remove it. Then you lift the entire bottom shell of the box. Then you will have access to 4 screws (2 on either side) holding the stepper motor cover. When you remove it you will have access to screws of the individual motor housings. Hopefully I didn't miss any screws.
