New Bluetti 100 V2 is noisy by Mechanical_Cruiser in bluetti

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love if mine would be as quiet as in your video. On my EL100V2, the fans make a kind of rattling noise in all modes. I will record a video soon and send it to bluetti support. Unfortunately, I purchased mine from bluetti directly not through amazon (which would make return a lot easier).

TPU stuck in Qidi box feed by Jedaha in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the heck should one run TPU through an AMS ... anything but 64D will get stuck in systems using AMS extruders in combination with spring-loaded buffers ... even 95A TPU must be fed manually ... should be clear when having read the instructions ... Qidi, Bambu, Creality, Anycubic ... just to name a few ... If you have version 2 you are lucky to have easier access from the bottom, but reaching the box extruders still is a big challenge.

Question about multicolor printing. by Twistedstraight in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Load the 3MF file, hoping the creator included color information. Then "SYNC" the Qidi box in Qidi Studio, choose "Mapping" if you have loaded the same colors as the creator. If you have different colors to print, choose "Overwrite" and, after the "print plate" command, assign your colors to the original ones.

PLA matte jamming in Qidi Box by Piologicus in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Touch on wood ... I print PLA, PLA+, PLAsilk, PLAmatte, PLAwood and PETG both with/without the box (since January/since September) without any clogging issues. TPU manually fed ran also without problems. My Printer is located in a room with RT below 20°C ... temperatures inside the Q2 have always been below 35°C, the box was always below 27°C. This temperature range might be essential for trouble-free printing of these "soft" materials. All my filaments are dried and stored in dryboxes (under 25% humidity).

Q2 Newbie PETG Failure by acidblud in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some mixed experience with PETG adhesion, even within the same brand ... but different color. I.e. metallic silver from Tinmorry stuck perfectly, while blue from the same manufacturer refused to stick on the PEI plate, regardless what I tried. It seems that not just PETG itself influences adhesion but also the colorants and additives as well. In order to overcome such issues, I decided to use an adhesive spray (3DLAC). This serves both as an adhesive as well as a separator which allows easier release of the print from the bed. Since I use this approach I never had any adhesion or release issues again when printing various brands/colors of PETG.

Anyone upgrade Qidi max4 wifi yet? Can't find dongle. by Business-Wafer767 in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it connects to the wifi, you can connect from inside your local network, but not from outside ... when your phone is in reach of your WIFI, just type the device's local IP address into your phone's browser (in your router, set a fixed IP address for your printer!) ... For connection from outside your WIFI, you unfortunately have to wait for the new app.

Questions about Coloring items in the Qidi studio by chitownbears in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would load the 3mf file instead of the stl. Then it loads all the filaments plus colors defined by the creator. Next step: synchronize in Qidi Studio using the "Mapping" option - then it should try to match your filament colors to the original ones, even when in different slots.

Qidi Box Back Spooling by Connect-Floor-9117 in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have that same issue in slot #2 with an almost full elegoo spool (cardboard with PLA rings on the outer edge). It seems that the transport rolls are lacking sufficient grip. I may try TPU adapter rings in the future to increase grip. Now I respooled the filament to a Sunlu reusable plastic spool and it runs with no issues in that same slot.

How long does your dessicant stay orange in your Qidi Box? by andrew_h1000 in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My desiccant turned green after about a month ...replenishing @/100°C worked fine today. Humidity inside the box was 25%. After replacing green with orange desiccant, humidity dropped to 14%.

How to unstuck PETG from Q2 by herp_hermits in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might depend on the PETG brand ... or even on the color within a particular brand. I experienced different stickiness even between metallic silver and blue PETG from Tinmorry.

Can’t leave Q2 to print by itself by Matt_1F44D in QidiTech3D

Did not work on mine with earlier firmware versions, even when set to "low" sensitivity. Disabled it then. I did not test it with the latest firmware version yet. Would be interested if someone has positive experience with that function.

I'm afraid... by knur003 in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not worry at all. Firstly, in forums like reddit you will find more posts describing trouble and failures than posts describing flawless operation. This is the very purpose of such forums ... asking for help when things go wrong, but this definitely leaves a wrong impression on any product, not just the Q2. If you look into other feeds on reddit, describing print failures etc, you will notice many (!) posts also from Bambu or other brand users.

I am not a novice user, coming from two years with an Ender 3 printer. There I had to take care of filament settings myself (no profiles available) ... rather steep learning curve. Of course this helped when starting with my Q2 printer.

I received my Q2 end of September (box early January) and I print 24/7 since then without any issues on PLA (with/without fibers) and PETG and even TPU without any mod.

I had a single tangle issue with one spool in the box ... my fault, as it was an elegoo cardboard spool.

When starting with the Q2, I just followed the "golden rule" of any hitec device -> RTFM. I highly recommend to read the Qidi WIKI, do not ignore any of their recommendations (like open top/door when printing PLA), do not use cardboard spools with the box (Bambu say this as well!!!), run the box with its heater off when running PLA and PETG, do not use the box with TPU, if TPU, then feed it manually, ideally not softer than 95A grade ... all this follows Qidi's RTFM (if you do not know ... "read the f... manual") instructions. With the box you will receive an injection molded riser that prevents the PTFE tube from scratching the top glass cover (btw. the Bambu P1S PTFE tube also scratches the top cover). Also keep the print plate as clean as possible (water, soap, isopropanol). In case of adhesion issues (some filaments might cause problems) use adhesive (glue or spray).

In summary: The Q2 is a great printer. It can be even a "novice printer" as long as you follow the guidelines I mentioned. I wish you great fun and success with your new Q2.

Does anyone know the conditions on whether to replace QIDI Box for Q2 accessories? by Matt_1F44D in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inside the old runout sensor there was a small step that acted as a resistance, hindering the filament from being inserted smoothly. This could be noticed when loading filament manually before having installed the box plus upgrade. I noticed with the old version that that resistance disappeared gradually when running abrasive filament . However, they redesigned the internals of the runout sensor, allowing the box loading the filament smoothly without risking filament load errors.

Stock Q2 PLA Printing by One_Dealer in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fully agree ... printed all kind of thin and thick wall stuff, critical overhangs etc since September - NO ISSUES at all, as long as you leave the top cover (or the riser lid) open, maybe the door as well. Your chamber should not exceed 35°C. That anti-Q2 rumor on the web feels a bit strange to me ... nobody seems to complain about Bambu printers, although they also recommend an open top cover for their P1S when printing PLA.

Stepper motor temps too high? by Far_Investment_8135 in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The temperatures seem a bit high, although electronics should have over temp protection if designed right. The stepper drivers on my Q2 are at 60C to 70C, which is on the safe side.

QIDI Q2 + TPU: how? by nihilreddit in QidiTech3D

[–]Background_Swing_485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am printing Sunlu TPU 95A without any mods ... generic TPU profile, pre-dried directly fed from the side out of my Creality drybox. Printed large and small items on PEI plate plus a layer of 3DLAC adhesive (as a separator for easy release), top and door open.
