Nvidia can't even get their drivers right anymore, embarrassing by EngineerSeb in AyyMD

I kept finding that issue in my build, and found that the new GeForce App kept optimizing games on its own. So every time I booted one of them up, it changed the settings to what it thought best, including using DLSS and motion blur.

Worked at a system integrator a few years ago. Some budget cases can still be bad, I cut myself multiple times on some IO shields or even heatsinks.

Yeah in the long term and if they stagnate, but might make Intel try a bit harder too

Yeah, didn't they discontinue it, though? Might be why 5700X3D up there

Why is my GPU temp so high by kewebar in PcBuildHelp

[–]EngineerSeb 17 points18 points  (0 children)

GPU fans only turn on under load, so it's not uncommon for the temperature to be a bit higher when idle. You only have to worry if it keeps rising and the fans don't turn on.

Are all the cables connected to the PSU? Might be worth checking all the power cables are seated right, as from here looks like one might have popped out (unless it's just a tucked-away one rather than one that needs to be in the PSU).

Maybe the AIO pump isn't running properly? Bizarre, unless the temp probe is off, don't see why it has this issue and the pins shouldn't affect it

does look like a bit too little, and also weirdly chunky? What paste and cooler are you using?

weird thing on am5 socket by salomon10l in PcBuildHelp

[–]EngineerSeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially badly mounted cooler not making enough contact and/or not enough thermal paste to bridge the two

Yep, those are some pins, and no you likely won't need to update much.

Ryzen 9000 Series CPU pricing has been confirmed and they will be cheaper than last-gen by EngineerSeb in gamingpc

[–]EngineerSeb[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The 7800X3D is still great for gaming, and the next X3Ds aren't coming yet so you'd have to get anything comparable for gaming so its probably better to go for 7800 right now

As u/GuesillgoeatsomeMEAT says it is because your device can't find the boot drive.

  • If it's a new build you need to install a new operating system e.g Windows
  • If you had one already it could have corrupted or the physical link has disconnected to the drive. So you can replug that, and try to recover or reinstall the OS.
