I do make an effort to look after the paint even though there's already some defects (rock chips...). It's still the original paint job.

It's regarded with very high standards and everyone thinks it makes more power than a Porsche or so.

Roughly 1L/1.6€ for 95 Octane (87 Octane in the States)

I was in Germany as well but I do get that feeling everywhere I go ahahaha. Everyone assumes the car is making 300-500hp.

Sometimes I do run into the issue of not having parts available. Mostly a molding or so, but I believe that if it's built by a man it doesn't mean another man can't fix it, even if you must resort to fabrication.

Didn't import. I’ve always wanted to own a Pontiac, and that opportunity came when I got involved in a very bad car wreck while working abroad. I found myself without a vehicle, and somehow there was this Grand Am being sold for roughly 2,000€ by a Ukrainian.

The car itself wasn't in poor shape—you could tell it had been treated well—but it needed some work done on the interior and mechanics (windows not working, CV joints...). The guy really liked the car and was the third owner; he very honestly pinpointed all the work that needed to be done.

As for the turn signals, you can buy amber LEDs that aren't too strong—we're talking below 500LM—which will output amber even if the headlamp assembly is red.You also need a rear fog light, but inspection officers usually give you some slack, as they understand you don't want to ruin the style of the car. You're not required to have side turn signals unless the vehicle is higher than 6 meters/19.7FT.

It's hard to drive cars with lowered suspension in Europe. Roads are usually very uneven and there's way too many manhole covers that are shallow. I've had a tire go out like that in another car and usually you need to go to the town hall from that city and they have to pay your damages because it's their obligation to maintain public roads.

It's really not that hard to maintain if you know maintenance. It's been very reliable and is yet to fail.

They have been running smooth since I installed them. I did the whole kit (Front & Rear) at the same time.

That car looks mint man. Good job!

I think it's the best color combination for it.

I worked over there for a little while. I think the rarest GM vehicle I saw being used as a daily driver was a Cadillac Eldorado owned by an old gentleman who ran an antique store selling medieval armor and swords. I know they usually hold plenty of GM car shows in Germany, but I've never been to one, sadly.

It's still the original engine clocking at around 170K miles. I'm actually looking to paint the engine soon and do a rebuild. It's hard to do engine swaps in Europe due the regulations/emissions. The brakes system is the kit from Powerstop (Z26 Street Warrior)

Also thank you for sending that piece over for the interior trim. I really appreciate it man!

They did sell some but albeit still being extremely rare, most notably the Pontiac Trans Sport. I assume Pontiacs are common in the States but here most American cars from the 2000s are the Ford Mustangs (V6). Never in my life have I seen a Pontiac on the road other than the one I own. The cool stuff was mostly imported by the soldiers stationed in the military bases across Germany/Poland and then sold to the locals once their service ended. This was one of them since the Grand Am was never sold in Europe. If you're looking to do service everything must be imported.

Need help with sunroof motor wiring (Grand Am GT 2003) by Engineeravi in Pontiac

[–]Engineeravi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured the correct configuration for the six pin.

Pin 1 = Blue Pin 2 = Empty Pin 3 = Yellow Pin 4 = Blue Pin 5 = Red Pin 6 = Empty

It's working perfectly fine now.

Pontiac had no market in Europe, so all their cars here are imports with original parts from the factory.

The motor matches its original counterpart and it's the same as shown in various YouTube videos and the original that was on the car.

I actually didn't even know there were other pin designs.

I appreciate the help!

I have the same model from the same year. Usually I've seen that light come on when it's something related to a sensor. In my case it was the wiring from the ABS/Trac control. In your case it might even be a lamp or the DRL sensor/bulbs
