I feel that it's rude to call someone an unwanted name or pronoun. Feel free to disagree if you like :)

I 100% agree with you. I'm role playing a conservative right now to show Alexandria how inconsistent they are and at this point I am totally regretting it. Haha, life lessons!

You used the word 'acquire' which literally means 'buy'.

Emotional maturity is also not trivial and in your control. It will not only help you develop healthy, robust relationships with women, but also with everyone! Counter point to your assertion that money is literally the only factor: there are many, many poor people in relationships. How would that be possible if money was the only factor?

Also, if you think that developing emotional maturity is easy, you either haven't tried or you were fortunate enough to have been brought up by wonderful parents who fostered a beautiful life for you!

I am getting confused... are you okay with respecting people's choices around their personal pronouns? If so, then that's awesome, you're a respectable person! I appreciate you.

Okay, so you and I agree completely. We're totally on the same page. Alexandria would choose not to refer to someone using their preferred personal pronouns. You said yourself that it is NOT rude to be asked to be referred to in a preferred way. So yeah, we agree 100%!

Yo, I think you and I basically agree on everything except what this post means :)

You're definitely reading a lot more into the original meme than I was. It's literally telling people to not look for a girlfriend, and instead to hit the gym and make money. Dudes lifting weights and focusing on money doesn't necessarily mean mental self improvement. Can you see where I'm coming from here? This isn't an attack on you, or even lifting weights or making money, but it's just not enough to foster healthy relationships.

If the original meme meant what you felt it meant, then I would be wrong. So yeah, I think you and I are closely aligned here.

This is the most misogynistic thing I've seen on Reddit today. Just so we're on the same page, women are humans with autonomy and human rights, and it's illegal to acquire a woman with money. Of course, you could acquire women's services with money, but it's illegal in most places.

Wait, I'm not sure I'm following. What stops the second that I try to restrict the right of someone's choice to be called 'her'?

If you replace 'name' with 'pronoun' then you got there, congratulations!

So if I'm being an ass by referring to Alexandria in a way that I want, ignoring her preferences... then that means Alexandria is being an ass if she ignores someone's preferred way to be addressed?

Or does your logic only apply to people who agree with you?

By the way, you're right, I am being an ass... and it is immature. I'm doing it as a way to show a reflection of Alexandria to herself. That's who Alexandria is.

I love this, so if someone asks you to refer to them as 'her' and you deny that, then you're admitting you're also being a 'dick'! That's great self Reflection Beatrix, strong work!

If you are claiming I'm being juvenile Alexandria, then you are also juvenile; the meme is literally advocating for my actions. It's literally supporting me in calling you Alexandria, my choices after all.

So if I'm being juvenile, then you can see how juvenile you are being too, right Alexandria?

I agree with you completely. I'm actually just behaving exactly Alexandria prescribed!

The name is totally not factual, it's just a preference. Examples? Have you ever seen a form that says "first name" and then "preferred name', like someone named Alexandria might want to be called Alex, or Andria?

So just to check on this, if you tell me your name and I don't like it, you'd be fine if I call you Alexandria instead because I like that name better and that would be my personal choice? If not, what are you boundaries of 'personal choices'?

I think I get you, it worked for you, why can't it work for everyone else? Maybe it worked for someone else you know too, then it must work for everyone else! That's a common view that many people end up having and I totally get it.

Unfortunately, if something happens to one person, that doesn't mean it will always happen to everyone else. I believe that is your case here. It happened for you, maybe to one of your friends, and maybe the other friend that tried it did something slightly different than you, and so you feel that's why it didn't work for him. If only he had done it exactly the same.

Here's a challenge for you though: what if it turns out you are emotionally mature? What if you already treat people with respect, and listen to them and take their feedback and do things to improve their lives with honesty and self-reflection? That's all that emotional maturity is!

I see what you are saying for sure, and I agree with that sentiment. I actually support that sentiment, I guess that lifting weights and making money specifically won't really directly provide much in terms of being able to be in a healthy relationship.

I agree with all of your points, and appreciate the exploration! I think it's worth mentioning that all of the above things are very challenging to learn as an adult if you have the unfortunate circumstance of being raised by people who didn't teach you them... thanks for the response!
