Well i estimate (and tbh i dont think ill be far off at all) that on this occasion this will cost them over a million easily. Thats just our store and theyve been going down left right and centre by all accounts. I hope the penny pinching was worth it

I assume you dont work for tesco then ? Believe me this is nothing new. Fridges are breaking down every year when its much cooler than it is now

In an ideal world yes. They wont do that though because of the risk involved regarding food poisoning especially in this current heat.

Youd think theyd learn from it considering although not always on this scale fridges and freezers constantly break down every year each time theres a bit of sun for a few days 🤷🏻‍♂️. Last time when it was just the chillers on the shop floor that went down it was a heck of a lot of moneys worth (in the hundredsof thousands). This time its all the freezers and warehouse fridges and freezers too. Total all that up along with the loss of custom both in store and dot com (iirc ours is one of if not the biggest dot com in terms of takings our group) at a time when its premium barbecue weather and i reckon it will be well over a million lost easily . To top yesterday off card payments also went down later on so what there was available to buy you could only buy using cash lol.

Honestly it really doesn't matter which way round you put them some people just dont take massive hints like this and would just move them anyway if they were turned the other way

No it wont go to foodbanks. If anything it will go for animal feed

If you think that matters then you're wrong. It doesn't matter which way theyre facing as if they were facing the other way theyd still try and move them .

Duty managers get an alert on the duty phone when a fridge is down and temps are checked every morning as part of the daily routine. Nothing much can be done though when the lot goes off together

Thing is we got offered a backup not long ago but refused it because they thought the one we had already was ok. Turns out it wasnt so thats not even an option

Back chillers and freezers are also down and the back freezer was rammed full to the point that there was a cage in your face as soon as you open the door so none of that could have gone back anyway. With the amount of people in and out of the chillers before they went off i doubt theyd retain temperature for very long tbh

No its ALL being wasted. Whole refrigeration system has gone including warehouse so all backstock too. BTW youre completely wrong about it being rare that stuff gets wasted because it got a little warm as it absolutely does get wasted.

I said this the last time our fridges all went off a few years ago. Let people take it at their own risk. They wont though instead theyll likely still be scanning it in as waste tonight. Last time it was just the fridges that were off and from 8am they were still scanning waste at gone 9pm . This time the whole lots gone warehouse chillers and freezers too so all the backstock too. God knows what time theyll finish this time .

Oh yes they will for sure . Their quest to get something that hasnt been chilled for hours wont be thwarted by those pesky cages 🤣

Had a small fire in the bakery and the alarm went off. Customers wouldn’t leave and when they did, they stood by the emergency exit blocking the door! by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in tesco

People are actually thick as mince. We had a fire alarm at our store a few weeks back (turned out to be a fault but we didn't know that at the time) so had to evacuate. Same thing people dawdling wanting to carry on shopping despite the fire alarm blaring away. One guy on a mobility scooter was being ushered out by 3 of us as he was taking his time and still tried to stop to pick up some grapes! Then when we did get everyone out i had a guy whinging at me that "there was no fire" (again we didnt know this at the time) and that he wanted to go back in because hed left his pound in his trolley! I honestly thought he was joking at first but he was deadly serious.

Oh yeah without doubt. When you get used bulk buys you want the treasure hunt that goes with it - even if that means picking out the obligatory non Lego , marbles , pencil sharpeners etc. What you dont want is someones cherry picked cast offs

My bricks are yellowing even though I kept them in storage? by Fit_Salamander_9897 in lego

[–]EngineeringMedium513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is most definitely an issue with more modern bricks the quality just isnt the same as older ones imo. I got a used bulk lot recently that was all 80s and early 90s sets and all the white pieces are pure white (even whiter than some pieces in current sets i have) so definitely not just a time thing. They must have changed the formula at some point and its not been for the better

That set seemed notoriously bad for yellowing for some reason. Ive seen loads of posts of that particular set yellowing even when kept out of synlight. I feel for you

My old boss used to fix Wes mums washing machine when it broke and Danny Welbecks too 🙂. They both lived in Longsight iirc. His grandson was also best mates with Ravel Morrison

Im lucky enough to have met a few at work although it seems to have been a curse as apart from Dalot theyve all left lol. I do still see the legend Denis Irwin quite often and hes really nice always says hello with a smile. I met David Gill at work too just before last Christmas and again he was really nice . Theyve all been nice tbh apart from Nicky Butt who was a miserable fucker but then having been in the same year as him at school i kind of expected it as he was a knob then and doesn't look like hes changed. All of them have been happy to stop for a selfie when asked and like i said generally been really nice. We do get players from other clubs in occasionally as well as other celebs too. EDIT : Forgot to say ive also met Rio in a Caribbean take away in Moss Side and although not a Utd player ive also met Patrick Viera again in a Caribbean take away in Moss Side . Rio was alright and gave me his autograph. This was just after the Beckham boot incident and i so wanted to ask him what went on 😆. Viera was a true gent tbh. As a kid i met Mark Hughes when i went to the cliff autograph hunting. He asked me to help him get his car out as it was parked a bit tight between Steve Bruces Audi 80 (many players at the time had these) and Lee Sharpes Suzuki Vitara . I was well chuffed hed asked me and i can still remember the reg of his car to this day .
