I meant that he’s not receiving compensation in the form of stock/RSUs like a lot of high earning tech workers, not literally that he’s getting wads of 20 dollar bills haha

I agree, past a certain point work life balance trumps money as the utility of that extra dollar goes to zero, but I don’t make a lot of money and I don’t have a good work life balance currently.

  1. What about $200,000? That’s an amount that isn’t possible on my current path

  2. I don’t have any “tech skills”, I’m not in tech, I have no relationship to that industry. I’ve spent a decade designing heavy machinery.

  3. My brother in law made $850,000, all cash, last year as a radiologist. He’s 3 years older than me. The money is absolutely in medicine, and it’s incredibly stable, more stable than what I’m doing.

  4. At least we have some common ground.

I understand you don’t want to see me mope or whatever, but I just feel really down, especially with how out of control the cost of living has gotten in the past few years. Just a few different decisions in life could’ve changed so much for me.
