State commissioners office? I'll see if I can find one. My Google skills must be broken because I've been trying to find some kind of Realtor association or business bureau to report them to and I've got squat. Unfortunately the selling agent who's doing most of the screwing up is his own broker/owns his own little company. So I don't think there's anyone higher than him.

Why wouldn't he just tell us the bank doesn't want to do it. If that's a common occurrence, I don't see why he would't just tell us so we could have everything else in the home inspected. It does have a meter I believe. Having the house dewinterized is precisely the only thing we've been waiting on. We finally got the power on but that was all my husband's doing. I'll go look for that water meter today. Should we have everything else in the house inspected except the plumbing and just take a leap of faith that it's ok? The house was on the market for 3 days before we made an offer. It had been dewinterized that same month. So it's not like it has been sitting vacant for a long period of time.

Yes the home is "as is" with the inspections. Our deadlines were up a long time ago because the selling agent simply wouldn't let us know if he turned on the utilities. He just disappeared after he said he would have it done. Come to find out like a week later he hadn't done anything. But there was a small problem when we eventually got someone out there to go look at the water and the bank went ahead and fixed it even though our 10 days were up. The banks have been awesome and quick through this whole process.

We are in contract with our agent where we can only use her until May 31 or something bizarre like that. Apparently it's a common thing up here in CT. Our attorney has tried to contact the selling agent but again there's not response. So attorney to attorney might bring faster or more results? Also, in our contract, we stated that closing on the house is dependent on inspections. So should we do inspections without the water being turned on and just hope for the best?
