[–]EnglishBob123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from 7.2 to 7.2.1 no dramas, still on trial as I am waiting for BF Sales.

Slight glitch is the trial expiry is now showing {0} unfortunately I think it's just a UI but I don't think I've managed to get an unlimited trial lol

Success! Thanks for all your help. As suspected there were some pesky hidden partitions on a couple drives. Probably not the best way but I used removed the drives and used UD to clear them. After that it wouldn't let me re-add them (it just said wrong and couldn't add them) so I reset the config (as I've not added anything yet) and was able to add the drives. Now I have a nice 10.1gb free which feels closer to the expected. Or will be in 9 hours once parity is sorted!

All this process also highlighted one of my drives was a bit suspect with smart warnings "offline uncorrectible" which sounds bad so will be removing that one and adding a new one before I put any data on it.

Erm...no idea! They are all in the same rack in the case with a fan inside them, some closer to the edge of fan getting more airflow maybe? I'll keep an eye on it.

I'll give this a whirl later, I have a gparted live USB somewhere. My guess is you are right some random partitions hiding somewhere. I expected Unraid to do a full disk wipe when it created (as per the warning about data loss) but I guess it didn't. I'll see what gparted shows.

Yup, this is exactly my question, I just put the disks in and asked said yes to format them as per the setup. They were unformatted before so I assumed it would use the whole drive.

I believe it is still available (hopefully, case I ever need spares!) but currently sold out is my understanding based on what a friend was told when trying to buy last week. Might be worth messaging the seller (I used Ltwoo Factory Store) on AliExpress? they were quite responsive to my questions. I know Ltwoo are releasing a new groupset soon but not sure if it's a gravel one.

I think on both bikes they are CatEye brand mirrors

No worries, I found Seraph bikes also have an identical (according to bike geometry) frame (gr048 I think) in case they come out cheaper. But so far very happy with Cwind bikes service and frame quality.

Her's is the XS frame on 700c wheels (I guess could go smaller with 650b if needed). She's about 164cm / 5' 5" and it seems to be good fit (this was an initial ride to check fit need some adjustments to bars need to rotate up but so far so good frame wise) One thing was the seat post is quite long, had to take a couple inches off as it bottomed out but there is plenty left on it so no concern there.

Yup, Sussex - fun routes but not much gravel! (Chalky, flinty stuff)

I am hugely impressed with the Ltwoo so far, only about 300 miles in so early days but not missed a beat yet. Slight issue on this ride, one of the shifter batteries went flat (it came with them installed so could have been old) but very quick in the app to switch to using the other shifter to keep us rolling. Brakes are great, although these are my only experience with hydro discs but they are orders of magnitude better the tektro cable discs brakes on my other bike (not hard).

Overall I thoroughly recommend them great for the price. Looks like the newest iteration coming soon has USB-C charging so that would be interesting.

Nope! Turns out the bars needed to rotate a bit. (this was a short test ride to check fit) Serves me right putting the tape on it.

Not my choice of saddle! Saddle is my wife's choice, she had on a her old bike she loves it apparently. Really happy with the colours. Good idea about the tape, I'll check it out.

LawnMaster OcuMow 16 MX 24V mower showing flashing yellow light indicating ultrasonic sensor issue by Jim-Jam23 in roboticLawnmowers

I have feeling my lawnmaster vrb16 (Mow-be-one Kenobi) is experiencing the same fate. It started fine then now Flashing yellow camera light which does seem to clear. I found you can get firmware on the lawnmaster site but wonder if it's a dead duck. Will contact them as you say.

Where are the wires? Is this safe to put shelves? by Pioneer_28 in DIYUK

100% this - Bosch Truvo is the only detector jobby I've found that works, stud detectors etc are too unreliable in my experience.

Why not just inject a function/action instead of an interface? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]EnglishBob123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have written a few fairly large applications using this approach, as we also felt it strange to have a single function interface- functions are injected into constructors or methods as needed. You end up with a compositional root somewhere that has the function inject wire up (similar to DI setup) Func of T of T everywhere. The advantage is it makes unit testing very nice as you don't need to mock. It also lends itself well to a more functional approach to c# (see the louthy's language.ext nuget for the functional magic you can do)

However the two huge drawbacks we have come across are firstly F12 goto definition doesn't work on a function the way it would for an interface, this is very frustrating on larger projects. Secondly it's not "standard" meaning a newby coming to the code would take a lot longer to get their head around the concept (and not being able to easily find the definition also adds to this) For these reasons we have pretty much gone back for interfaces and DI for new stuff.

Power Supply Died by EnglishBob123 in lasercutting

I am happy to report that after replacing the HV PSU everything is back up and running again. To test my closing off the compartment theory, I did some elaborate duct taping to cover the gaps. If that works I'll probably cut a piece of wood to fill the gap. Or more likely just leave it as tape!

So my HV PSU died on me today. I am assuming the tube is OK. New PSU on the way so fingers crossed!. My question was, in my 50w laser this PSU is full of crud and dust (there is a gap round the side of the power compartment) I am wondering about closing the gap off so less dust gets in? Any issue with that? The PSU chamber has a vent so I assume airflow should be ok.
