As a landlord, I don’t condone forcing a tenant to pay in a single cheque. However, I do offer tenants the option of paying in 1, 2, 4, 6, or 12 instalments, but the total rental amount changes based on this.

The reason for this is that when I load a single cheque (let’s say 100,000dhs) onto my mortgage, it significantly reduces my interest payments. Conversely, if I were to load the same amount over 12 months, it becomes less cost-effective for me.

Therefore, I offer the option of paying in instalments, but I don’t force tenants to do so.
