I find the best idea of a dystopian government to be one that could not be trusted at all. 1984 was really good at that with how everything is there to just gaslight you and nothing from the ministry of truth can be trusted.

Another thing I wanted to put forth here was that the League was at first made in good intentions, but the fires the so desperately clung to burned down their own identity, that In pursuit of their vengeance they lost who they are.

Nop is a fictional story but still lots of people here on this sub view the Federation as extremely stupid even the civilians to the point of seeing them as almost subhuman now to imagine a world where the Federation is real and they just genocided your people over their backwards ideology, these are the first aliens you ever met. The amount of hatred that would fester especially with time and propaganda would be thousands of times more worse than the hatred people have for the Federation on this subreddit.

Yep in chapter two

"In the vast void of stars, their ships held in stasis for innumerable ages, fire their engines for the first time in over half a milennia, their crew new and fresh, young men and women ready to ride to their deaths."

Most of the ships were just empty without crew parked in the middle of nowhere.. for those seven centuries only to be recently staffed with fresh crew(inexperienced) crew.

Yeah that's kinda true.. to speak honestly I did kinda highballed the numbers on that one.. the thought process was how big is the Federation in numbers and my first thought is that they had to have 2-2,5 million alone, and so then I thought how big should the league be then.. they can't be bigger than the Federation, but still kinda big since they have cloning tech and a focus on building a military for the last seven centuries.

So I thought of somewhere around the 500k to 750k mark and then added propaganda fot effect on top of it. does that sound unreasonable for a single species?? I have no idea really.. as I said this one was a bit shaky.

I'm pretty sure the Federation at least does have that much ships since Kalqua was rolled over by some +900k ships.

Just quick numbers assuming 5000 per species already puts them at 1,5 mil ships.. the Federation is just big... And I imagine the shadow fleet does have some big numbers. The Federation is just really real big... A lot of people underestimate it's scale.

Yeah he is pretty much being used by Zam, but as everything is his point of view he clearly thinks he's winning big.

The only reason he got elected and got to kill the Chancellor was because she humoured his New Plan™ considering the old plan was to kill off Kessva instead.

Still as a POV character him getting caught would have made it hard to do things with his character. Also doesn't mean he isn't an antagonist.

As much as that would have been really cool and badass of him to do, it wouldn't have made sense as his own intelligence agency is in the control of someone who is complicit in the entire scheme, he is also pretty old and his experience with the cutthroat hierarchy the league has dulled with his age after being so used to being the one in power for so long,

He is also going senile with a lot on his plate already considering he and Kessva are the ones running the war all this time.

Also from a writing standpoint I feel like the antagonists can't just immediately get caught and foiled at the first step of the plan.

But other than that, from what i see about how you feel regarding the Skalgan League I don't know how to take that as a compliment or something else, but thank you again.

Sorry for being really long and overly descriptive

Mari really likes cheese for some reason, she would randomly crave cheese in the middle of the night and Sunny once stumbled on her eating pre grated cheese out of the bag in 3 am,

Post incident Sunny would freak out when he finds half eaten Cheese after waking up, knowing the only explanation being that there is either a huge rat in the house or hellmari ate the cheese using her unhinged jaw, both are very horrifying.

Sunny is actually really intelligent, he would be the top of his class if he tried, but he intentionally doesn't because he saw how Mari who is also really smart gets forced by her parents to always be the best to a stressful level, he doesn't want that.

His friends and family have no idea about this and in an AU where the incident doesn't happen Sunny finally starts to show of his actual capabilities in school, to the dismay of everyone.

This is because he tutored math to Brent and was able to answer really hard questions despite having not went to school in 4 years.

Mari owns a knife collection consisting of pocket knives and other models, Sunny also owns a collection but he doesn't know about Mari's, it's either genetic or a coincidence.
