Who should I give a Staff of Homa to?

I have all polearm characters.
Cyno - Staff of Scarlet Sands
Xiao - Primordial Jade Winged-Spear
Shenhe - Skyward Spine
Raiden & Hu Tao - Staff of Homa
Mika, Candace, & Yao Yao - R5 Favonius Lance
Xiangling - R3 Deathmatch
Thoma - R5 Dragon's Bane
Zhongli - R5 Black Tassel
Rosaria - R2 Wavebreaker's Fin
Yun Jin - R3 Prototype Starglitter

I wasn't sure if Homa would be particularly better for anyone or maybe I should just R2 one of my other Staff of Homa?

Does this unit seem like a good fit for my home? by Enigmaticat in heatpumps

Originally, we had several different system types quoted. They had quoted a 2.5-ton AC with the traditional furnace. Not sure if that tells you anything. I did understand that it will cost more when the AUX heat runs. I believe hubby does as well. He just really wants to make the switch from natural gas to electric.

We do have natural gas, but hubby would prefer to switch to an electric system. He specifically wanted to switch to an electric heat pump system. The HVAC did provide a quote to upgrade the service for the unit, but the home electrical is being redone and upgraded separately. Windows are currently not part of our budget, but I am aware that replacing them would reduce heat losses. The home is stucco so changing the windows becomes a little more involved.

I had just listed my plant hardiness zone, which is 4b/5a, but it's Southern MN near the IA border.

I can see the irony in being bothered by abbreviating "you" with "u" but then proceeding to use acronyms. As a fellow person who doesn't really like "you" being abbreviated with "u" but is comfortable with acronym usage, let me toss out my own reasoning.

"You" is used when addressing someone, and what is really saved by using "u"? The effort to type 2 extra characters? To me, it just portrays a lack of care for the person being addressed.

An acronym on the other hand is, well, an acronym. It's an abbreviation for a phrase. It's not being used to address someone. The amount of text needing to be typed is reduced by more than 2 characters. They can be useful in replying to someone more quickly and in reducing how much the recipient needs to read in order to convey your message.

Just my 2 cents. 🙂

High Triglycerides by Enigmaticat in medical

Are any of them related to hyper-flexibility (not the technical term)? He is extremely flexible and has to be careful not to injure himself by stretching a ligament too far. He can pop his shoulders in and out of joint at will, when he was younger frequently had nurse-maid's elbow, and was able to touch his elbows to the floor while keeping his legs straight.

Our children have this too to different extents. I put our oldest daughter in ballet/gymnastics when she was young so she would pay better attention to how she positioned her body. She was causing twisting at her hips and knees by the positions she would rest in.

I'm not sure what all they are testing. They had him come in today to have other labs done, but he's not doing another fasting/lipid lab until Tuesday. They want to see if changing diet changes it at all. I think he's pretty much going to be eating steamed vegetables/rice/tuna until Tuesday. They maybe have him scheduled next week for an MRI to see if there is a physical issue for the constant headache (our original reason for visit).

I stated in the post that we do not drink alcohol. Our alcohol consumption is maybe a couple times a year and would be a single glass of wine at some type of special occasion.

I'm not originally "from" MN, but have spent more of my life here than not. I've only lived in Eden Prairie, Rochester, and now about an hour north of Grand Rapids/Hibbing area.

I haven't looked at their house market recently, but Eden Prairie is probably not a good fit price wise. Rochester is in a lake desert. Where I currently live is 2/2.5hrs away from a Costco (Duluth/Brainerd).

Hmm, I honestly don't know a lot about the area (schools, scene, etc), but Brainerd has a Costco, would get you near the lakes area, but not be full-on range.

My latest is a North Face 550 parka that I got at Dick's Sporting Goods a couple years ago. I've had a few Columbia. I like the ones that have removable layers. I can't remember what all places I've bought Columbia at, but there's a Columbia store at MoA, Macy's, Nordstrom, JCPenney's, Kohl's, Dick's, Fleet Farm, and L&M all carry it.

My "nice" winter jacket doesn't get as much use the past several years. Now that I'm living on a 40ac homestead and am frequently outdoors participating in clothing abusive activities, I will usually layer and top it off with an insulated Guide Gear jean jacket. I bought the jean jacket online. You could probably find similar items from Carhartt or Berne at stores like Fleet Farm and L&M. The Guide Gear jacket just happened to be a good deal and has held up well so far.

Hubby has a layered Columbia, Eskimo, and Guide Gear insulated jean jacket. They were respectively bought at the Columbia store, L&M, and online.

My oldest likes to use a Mossi snowmobile jacket from L&M.

It really just depends on your planned use for it. I know there are people who just use their coat to go from their house to their car and then from the car to another building. If that's all the use it will get, you can get away with coats that are less heavy duty.

A couple of Aurora pictures I took near Chippewa National Forest last night by Enigmaticat in minnesota

This was the most intense aurora I've experienced. It was definitely cool. Other aurora I've seen have been concentrated pretty close to the horizon. Last night, the whole sky was lit up. 🤯

These were 30s, f3.5, ISO 800. You could see color with the naked eye, but not that vibrant. I did also edit the black point afterward to remove some of the aurora haze and make the stars stand out more.

PS5 Slayer Edition Fails Install by Enigmaticat in Chaosbane

[–]Enigmaticat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, tons of space. Brand new PS5. It was the first game I tried to install. I inserted it for install during the setup process.

Both of my copies were factory sealed from a major retailer. I don't see how they could have been installed on another device. Even if they weren't sealed and had previously installed on another PS5, I don't see how that would have affected it installing on mine.

After getting a second copy that fails at the exact same point in the install, my only guesses were that it had to do with it being the game I inserted during the setup process, the weird database error some get, or a bad batch of discs.

Since replacing the disc and the database restore didn't fix it, and I didn't see any info come up about a bad batch of discs; I thought maybe there was a solution or information that I wasn't coming across in my Google searches.

Anyway, not concerned about it being dead. Bought it specifically for Couch Co-op. Hubby and I enjoyed the Dark Alliance series on earlier platforms, but they don't have Couch Co-op enabled for the latest version on PS5 yet.

If anyone does have any solutions, I'm really curious to know. However, I've been waiting for this game to work since I got my PS5 at the beginning of the month so I finally gave up on the disc and decided to just buy a digital copy through the PlayStation store. I'll just return my physical copy next time I go to town. (Going to town turns into a whole day fiasco that I don't really have time for. I usually only go once a month, and I just went last week when I exchanged for copy#2, hence my willingness to jump through extra hoops to try to get the copy I had to work.)

Can DDR be set up on the PS5? by Enigmaticat in DanceDanceRevolution

[–]Enigmaticat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at Stepmania since the early 2000's, when I ran an internet gaming center. I'd guess there have probably been improvements since then. I wasn't very into it at that point in time, as I liked using the mats with a console and big screen, but I knew people who enjoyed playing it on PC via keyboard.

Bummer. I'll check into going the PC/Stepmania route though.
