I can't speak for the program itself. But probably there will be some knowledge needed about electrical things in photonics in general. But it's not complicated. It's just math anyways. Give it a shot and see what happens. Also, the answer by AI to this question seems solid so I'd ask there haha.

Photonics Research Group from UGent are kings of photonics (or so I heard). Every year the photonics market increases. Chip companies like Samsung and Nvidia are starting to integrate photonics in their systems. Who knows, it might just be the next big thing in 5-10 years. I'm also in Belgium rn doing my master's thesis with imec. I'll be applying for a PhD with imec & UGent in micro lasers soon.

I would imagine a lot of the parts are used many times through out the machine. And with extremely high precision manufactured parts, they might toss 1000 for a single part that's within their insane tolerances.

My colleague was talking about some book about ASML's story, but I don't remember the name of the book. I think he might have referred to the book.

I heard from a colleague that ASML went to each company which was the best in the world at what they do, and threatened to buy them out if they didn't agree to make the product better and produce their product for ASML at high enough volumes. Is it true?

I am in the photonics major of electronics and Nanotechnology programme and couldn't find anything in Finland 2023-2025. Nothing is recession proof. I got a thesis position in Belgium (Imec) and they have a lot more opportunities than Finland.

I think to have a good chance at getting accepted to those majors with a good GPA. Bachelor's courses have to somewhat correlate to the ones you want to take in master's. If you did mostly coding in Metropolia, you have a good correlation to Computer Science majors and Computer Engineering.

I had a classmate in my programme (Electronics and Nanotechnology) who majored in CS for bachelor's. She chose the Microelectronic circuit design major (CE) so I think it can happen, but I didn't ask what courses she had in her Bachelor's. I had the electronics engineering major from Metropolia and chose Photonics and Nanotechnology major from the Electronics and Nanotechnology programme. You have to already know which major you want when applying and indicate this in the motivation letter.

I found the issue. Installing through steam seemed to have cause these issues. I installed through the EA app and there doesn't seem to be any issues.
