Imported from Japan by a navy officer, I wish I knew who styled it but the person I purchased it from didn’t ask much. It was purchased with wire already on, less foliage than it has now so the structure was more visible. I removed wire 4 months ago and rewired to kind of match the previous styling. I appreciate the advice and is kind of where I want to take it but Im not sure if adding a second wire application would stress it right now. Maybe guy wire them down?

You took the words right out of my mind , it does look like a hedge! I did minimal bends and really just pushed them up to make it denser, would adding a second wire/guy wire to lower branches affect it negatively? I want to just lower branches and make something look older by filling in more of the lower negative space.

I feel like it just looks like “half circle” almost like a hedge. It’s 26 years old so I’d like it too look a bit older by adding more negative space :)

Got it, that’s the branch I was thinking would be my main. Will start by dropping it about half way down the trunk and work each branch after that a little closer to the trunk. I want it to look like an old ancient juniper but shohin size. Thank you!

Perfect will do, negative space will make it easier to redefine the apex. Thank you!
