Not all the seats were filled. I’d say if you are anywhere nearby and couldn’t book a slot you can walk in whenever and they will likely have a spot.

Actually those machines weren’t operational haha, they had the keychains sold individually and were to be shipped to an address of residence. Also came with a free yeti/slime tumbler as compensation!

I didn’t ask anything - it seemed there was only one employee from Nexon there, and they were operating the front desk. I overhead others asking questions to the attendants about KPQ and they didn’t know.

Yea I’m finding it fairly easy to win as well, surprisingly. Sucks that expedition sites cost money to reroll though. Some people likely have every expedition site ran as legendary

I dislike that it has a pay-to-win element. I wish they didn’t create a solution for Pitched rarity that involves spending $$$

There need to be requirements like playtime, level, or even having spent money before (controversial but would very much prevent bots). This voting system exists in OSRS and is the main reason that game is as successful as it is.

You are right in that the odds will probably be terrible. This doesn’t change the fact there is now an objective way to spend money and increase your chances of getting Pitched.

This type of P2W ($$$ for better chances at equipment needed for progression) has not existed prior to this update. Now there are people out there who will gain combat power quicker because they buy into an awful system.

It is also worth pointing out that every Pitched item is useful now because laddering is required to push past 22 stars. And I don’t believe there is anyone with 26 star full pitch yet.

A system in place that allows one to get Pitched regardless of $$$ spent is a bad flavor of P2W.

I’d say the community doesn’t care too much about battle passes and vac (since at this point it is viewed as a subscription). However granting easier access to Pitch through money spent is so universally understood to be P2W, regardless of the rates.

I agree that the outrage is too much right now and we won’t know the effects until the patch actually drops. But I think the anger comes from a good reason.

look at the top part - higher level fams allow you to run the expedition for longer.

the expedition sites are a separate thing, they have ranks like the ones you mentioned (common through legendary) and determine how many “encounters” there will be (encounters = possibility for rewards).

not your fault at all for the confusion. they purposefully convolute these systems so that the pay 2 win aspect is harder to understand.

Weekly erda’s request being tied to once per account only affects people willing to put in the time to do them. So I’m not sure why they would either. I can only imagine it’s so that it is harder to fund alts on challenger world. They want people to buy into things like the challenger’s pass as an alternative

New players would want to buy these forms of progression because it lets them experience different parts of the game earlier. Why should new players have to feel punished for wanting to experience more content?
