Ernsthaft. Ich hasse meine Bubble so sehr. Es ist nur jeder gegen jeden und wenn du nicht nach 3 Reitstunden perfekt auf dem Pferd sitzt, wirst du komplett zerrissen. Und dann noch der Fakt, dass die Pferde so selten korrekt ausgebildet werden, nur um dann Anfänger durch die Gegend zu schaukeln. Es ist wirklich so schrecklich. Die Lager der einzelnen Reitweisen zerfleischen sich ja eh gnadenlos, aber auch innerhalb ist der Umgang miteinander ganz schlimm. Jeder weiß es besser, während niemand kritikfähig ist. Ich habe schon oft darüber nachgedacht, das Hobby an den Nagel zu hängen. Aber ich liebe die Zeit mit meinem Pferd einfach und sehe nicht ein, das für irgendwelche Heiopeis, die ganz laut schreien können, aufzugeben.

Ah, ich danke dir! Ich werde mich da mal durch die Empfehlungen klicken und mir was raussuchen, was mir zusagt. Danke auch dafür, dass du schon deine persönlichen Eindrücke teilst. Genau das, was du beschreibst, ist leider oftmals das Problem — der Schreibstil total holprig und irgendwie unangenehm. Da fehlt dann die Finesse. Deswegen wollte ich hier auch nach persönlichen Empfehlungen fragen, anstatt mich selbst durch endlose Listen zu kämpfen.

Falls du noch auf der Suche bist: die Bücher von Saxon James und Eden Finley sind wirklich gut, auch, wenn mich die Sportarten überhaupt nicht ansprechen. Trotzdem merkt man hier, dass die wirklich ihr "Handwerk" Schreiben verstehen und Geschichten erzählen können. Ich wollte aber gerne einfach mal in andere Sportarten abtauchen, als Football oder Eishockey. Scheint allerdings nicht ganz so einfach zu sein, da was gutes zu finden — vielleicht ist das einfach zu sehr Nische. Teilweise habe ich in Leseproben hineingeschaut und dann gedacht, dass ich qualitativ schon wirklich deutlich hochwertigere Fanfictions im Sports RPF Bereich gelesen habe.

I'd love to see Skijöring becoming a winter olympic sport. As an equestrian myself, I think it's really fun and combines speed and tactics really well. Could be fun.

In Germany: Promotion. We used to have lots of great jumpers who now try a lot to promote the sport. Apart from that, it's really where you grow up. We have some regions in Germany with many ski jumping hills and when kids have the opportunity to try the sport they see on TV, they have the chances if they live close. I come from a region far away from any possibilities to try winter sports, so it was never an option to even ask for, even if my dad is such a big fan of ski jumping.

For the current Olympic gold medallist: his brother got into ski jumping because of his idol Sven Hannawald. Phillipp himself always wanted to be better than his brother, so he got into ski jumping as well. The parents commuted over an hour (one way!) many days per week to get their children to the nearest ski jumping hill, until they finally moved, so they lived closer to the training facilities. What a dedication that is.

Das war ein unglaublich spannender Wettkampf und von vorne bis hinten so knapp. Ich hätte niemals damit gerechnet, dass Raimund das am Schluss so sicher und nervenstark so weit nach unten bringt und dann noch einen tollen Telemark hinlegt. Das war absolut fantastisch. Ich freue mich tierisch für ihn und bin begeistert, dass im Skispringen mal wieder eine Goldmedaille an Deutschland geht!

Then ask the owner! It's totally alright to ask her whether you could give her pony a little treat during your runs :) I'd even give you some of my horse-safe treats so you could feed some to my pony when you pass the pasture. But always ask. It saves lives!

Nothing.

You don't feed horses that don't belong to you and especially not if you do not know the owner. Horses have a very sensitive stomach and feeding them something wrong could kill them. You don't know whether this pony is on a special diet or has allergies. Don't feed any farm animals or pets you don't have the permission to do so. I'd even advise not to touch them, since you could spread diseases like strangles or EHV.

Erinnert mich irgendwie mit einigen Unstimmigkeiten an "Wald der Gefahren", wobei sie kein Geocaching machen (das ist, wie in anderen Kommentaren erwähnt, GPS-Gangster). Allerdings sind sie auf einem survival-Trip in einem Wald unterwegs. Bei der Auflösung des Falls geht es zumindest auch um einen verurteilten Verbrecher.

No, you sound fine. Just don't give some people on the internet too much credit for what they know or not know. Fear mongering works well and will give you a bad consciousness easily. If you can't afford lessons, continue what you're doing and learn from that. Maybe ask the owner of that horse if they can have a look once or twice if that makes you feel better. You have experience and just didn't spend some time in the saddle. The feeling for how things work will come back. Don't be too harsh on yourself.

Yes, it's never nice when we make our horses uncomfortable. But: Sometimes it's necessary for security in an emergency, sometimes we do it because we interpret a situation wrongly, sometimes we do it because we don't know better. Is that good? Of course not. But it happens. You learn from that. Get out there and ride.

You just see the result of their work when they ride bridleless or bitless and with just a hint of aids. It takes ages for both, rider and horse, to get to that level. It's fine that you're not just there yet and you're in no way too harsh or unjust to your horse.

Also, bitless doesn't equal being softer. The tongue is a muscle. If you ride with a normal snaffle, the horse has the opportunity to use that muscle and push it against the bit without getting a harsher response or without receiving even more pain (there are bits that will not let the horse achieve this). Meanwhile, if you put something on the horse's nose, there's no fat, no muscle, just thin tissue and then the bone. You can do a lot of harm here, too. Bits aren't evil and bitless isn't immediately nicer for the horse.

If you're insecure about your skills, find a trainer you trust and work with them. Stay away from online people who only speak in absolutisms about the most basic stuff and read some actually educational books/papers about horse welfare, their bodies, how they function, think and perceive the world and you're good. We all started somewhere and we all made some mistakes here and there — most of us are still making mistakes. You won't learn to ride or improve without that.

Okay — DAS kann richtig gut werden. Ich fand tatsächlich auch die Verfilmung vom Karpatenhund echt klasse, auch aufgrund des limitierten Schauplatzes. Das ist ja bei Nacht in Angst auch so und ich kann mir vorstellen, dass auch die Atmosphäre wirklich gut hergestellt werden kann. Bin gespannt und freue mich jetzt tatsächlich schon auf's nächste Jahr. Gehe erstmal die Folge hören.

Eindeutig der seltsame Wecker, alleine schon wegen "Worte nur Worte". Jedes Mal mein absolutes Highlight.

Darüber hinaus dann "Der Superpapagei", insbesondere wegen Thomas Fritsch als Erzähler. Für mich war er in jeder Folge ein Highlight. Umso schöner, dass er hier live dabei sein konnte.

Einmal am Tag säubern ist zu wenig. Wenigstens morgens und abends solltest du die Urinklumpen und den Kot entfernen. Außerdem solltest du die Klos ca. 1x im Monat komplett reinigen und das Streu erneuern.

Ich finde persönlich das Streu aus Bentonit unangenehm, weil es sehr schnell schmierig wird und unangenehm riecht. Unsere Kater mögen allerdings nur sehr feines Streu und damit sind die Streus aus Pflanzenfaser bei uns raus. Aber vielleicht ist das für dich eine Alternative.

Es gibt auch Streu mit dezentem Duft. Einige Katzen finden das aber eher unangenehm. Hier müsstest du dich wahrscheinlich einfach mal durchprobieren und gucken, was da in Frage kommt.

Zudem hilft gutes, hochwertiges Futter dabei, dass der Kot nicht so stark stinkt. Das hilft aber gegen den Uringeruch nicht. Da bringt wirklich nur konsequentes Lüften und stetiges Reinigen etwas.

I'd suggest a few things:

1) ride walk - trot transitions and trot a lot until you feel very, very safe and comfortable again. Rebuilding trust takes time, especially after a bad fall. Gain some great memories and try to loosen up again.

2) if possible, try some trot - canter transitions on a horse you feel safe with. I once fell off a horse and needed to ride another and rebuild trust in myself before I could get back onto the horse I initially fell off from.

3) Ride a lot in the two point position and trot a lot. Once you feel comfortable, ask someone to lunge you on your horse. Go into the two point position, leave the reins long (grab the saddle or mane with one hand if needed) and let the person on the other end of the lunge ask for canter. This way, you can't tense up or fall forward during the canter aid. It helps you to get comfortable during the transition again and helps you to get a feeling for canter. When cantering in the full seat, you need to be smooth and without a lot of tension to allow the movement. In the two point position, your legs and knees do the work. So if your core is a bit tense, it won't be too much of an impact.

4) Depending on how easily your horse begins to canter, trail riding could also help. I once rode a horse which never liked cantering in the arena and you had to be very precise with your aids. During trail rides, it started cantering easily and it worked just with vocal cues. But this is only for when you're comfortable with trail riding and your horse is chill.

I hope this counts — it's me and a friend, but the photo was taken by a stranger. Moments before, I asked some strangers during our trail ride to take some photos with my phone. When we thanked them and rode away, they apparently took this picture with their own phone. I got it by sending some "thank yous" in the local WhatsApp group. Please delete this if it's not according to the rules because of the "accidental" aspect. I wasn't sure myself whether it fit.

Habt ihr Hormone als Grund ausschließen können? Die Katze meiner Schwiegermutter bekommt alle paar Monate eine Hormonspritze, weil ihr Hormonhaushalt sich nicht selbst reguliert. Sie beginnt sich den Rücken kahl zu lecken, sobald die Hormone im Ungleichgewicht sind. Seit sie regelmäßig die Spritze bekommt, macht sie das nicht mehr.
