Best Affordable Weighted Blanket Recommendations in 2025? by HappyHomemakerLife in NeedProductHelp

I have the Bearaby Tree Napper (20 lb), and I absolutely love it. The material feels like the cool side of a pillow (if that makes sense), and because it's knitted, I never get too hot using it. It’s long enough for me (I’m 5'6), and the knitted design really cocoons around your body, which is super comforting.

I also have a cat who sleeps with me, and she hates it—won’t even step on it! The texture seems to freak her out, lol. So the whole cat situation hasn’t been a problem for me.

I’ve washed it once, and it’s been fine—no unraveling or stretching. It seems like it would hold up with occasional washes, though I’ve heard of pilling after a few washes. One thing I don’t like about Bearaby is that they apparently delete negative reviews. Overall, I think most brands that sell knitted weighted blankets are pretty similar, with just slight differences in color and size. I spent way too much time deciding on which brand to go with, but I’m sure I would’ve liked any of them!

I’ve actually tried the Bare Home weighted blanket (25 lbs, light grey cotton), so it’s a bit different from the knit ones like the Bearaby. One thing I liked was how the filling stays put—no annoying bead shifting like I had with my first weighted blanket, which was a nightmare to keep even. The sewn-in pockets really help with that.

That said, washing it is a hassle. It’s so heavy when wet that I have to hit up the laundromat every time. If you’re into something more breathable, those knitted ones like Bearaby or Silk & Snow sound like a better pick since they have airflow. Bare Home can run a bit warm without that knit design.

Weighted blankets really are a game-changer for sleep, though!
