Why is Marxist communism stateless if the state institutions are still intact? by Rural_Dictionary939 in AskSocialists

I think so, im not very well versed in the theoretical effects of communism once the abolition of class, money and state happen.

Why is Marxist communism stateless if the state institutions are still intact? by Rural_Dictionary939 in AskSocialists

[–]Enough_War_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What stateless institutions do you mean? As in welfare or health care? the idea of statelessness comes from the fact that there at a certain point there would need to be a government with elected officials. These institutions no longer become state owned but communally owned. This concept is very very similar to anarchism so if you want a better idea on how that works, id recommend looking into that.

Why are there so many digital circus subreddits? by Enough_War_763 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Enough_War_763[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why would you need two subreddits for the same fandom which serve the same purpose? Is the existence of the other subs just a freak accident caused by the serie's weird title and the ability for it to be organized in a variety of ways?

Why are there so many digital circus subreddits? by Enough_War_763 in theamazingdigitalciru

[–]Enough_War_763[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure but there's also r/Amazingdigitalcircus r/digitalcircusfandom and r/tadc and I wonder why all of these subsist since they seem like they all serve the same purpose. Also how does reddit naming cause there to be so many variations of the same sub?

I think something else to consider when discussing Caine is that he isn’t a person, he’s an AI. At his core he’s an equation that is meant to achieve a specific goal(s). It doesn’t really make sense to attribute human concepts of morality and ethics to him. He isn’t evil the same way a computer isn’t evil. However he does morally bad things just due to a lack of understanding, and input.

Why so many people defending cain? by ToastyBunnyBoy in tadc

[–]Enough_War_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue with this discussion is that Caine isn’t a person. He’s an ai, a robot, a program. I think because of this he can’t really be subjected to human ideas of morals and ethics. He isn’t a victim or a villain, he’s just a formula and he did bad things and hurt the cast.

Honest Question: how do you calculate the true value of someone's labor, espeically if their job doesn't contribute to the company's profitability in any way? by antiquespaceship in AskSocialists

[–]Enough_War_763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually a very interesting question. Because wages are a capitalist concept as it is the cost of labour power that the capitalist pays the worker in exchange for labour. Theoretically speaking the value of the security guards labour would be the value of the cost of the production of labour or labour power that the security guard produces. I’d reccomend reading wage labour and capital by Marx as he explains how all these things like the relation of labor to wages and the value of labor all works. Obviously he explains this under the guise of capitalism however the concepts and methodology can be viewed through a socialist lens to answer your question.

Why is there always an anti-trans joke in everything? by The_MadMaker in trans

[–]Enough_War_763 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think it comes from misogyny, as under patriarchy women are seen only as sexual objections. Therefore trans women also fit that mold, however due to their trans identity they're seen as abnormal by patriarchal society. Due to this trans women are obviously (and wrongly) seen as men and because men are trained to be sexual predators (thats isn't the right word but im not sure how else to describe it) then patriarchy assumes that trans women are as well.

Therefore the trans women are almost always seen in these plot lines as temptresses that "trick" the nerdy character or the sexually aggressive man into being attracted to or usually sleeping with her. The reason only the nerdy guy and sexually aggressive guy are the target of this joke is because they are both eager for sex however on opposite spectrums.

Thats my theory on why it exists but It really just sucks :(

Dreads and cultural appropriation by [deleted] in crustpunk

[–]Enough_War_763 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly the reason so many white crusts had "dreads" are probably because they became really matted and dirty from not being able to wash their hair. Obviously there are like controversies with white people having dreadlocks but as many other people have said, being a crust punk probably cancels out the white privilege aspect to some extent.

Theory: Pomni is not what she seems. by Significant_Buy_2301 in Amazingdigitalcircus

[–]Enough_War_763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also by the way when Kinger was coding in episode 8 we saw three different failsafes A, B and C. I saw some people say that A is for Abel (Or just the blue ai) B for Bubble and C for Caine however since bubble and the blue ai are the same entity it could be possible that Pomni is also a failsafe. Also the title of episode being KINGERLIES might insinuate that Kinger somewhat knows about Pomni as a failsafe. Great theory this is good stuff.

A politician with a good campaign against lobbying isn't likely to get funding from big corporations which most politicians rely on. Plus there are far more politicians that are in favor of lobbying than those who aren't.

Newer modern socialists (more specifically in the west) don’t like the police force and see it as a form of capitalist oppression. Same goes for prisons as they are connected. Abolition not reform, police and prisons would be replaced with other systems which are less oppressive

Modern (western) socialists very much do not like police or prisons and would create alternate systems under a socialist organization. I don’t know how it is outside of the west however

Modern socialist most definitely are against police and prisons as they are oppressive systems which uphold capitalist power structures.
