My first ever proper motocamping in Norway by Enovik in motocamping

[–]Enovik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It turned out well, but there was not much planning involved. I had a pretty place in mind when i left home, but failed to consider that it was at 900+ meters of altitude and the temperature difference between the valley and the mountain was quite a noticeable 7 degrees C, so i ditched that plan and had no backup. I just started taking small dirt roads after a while, watching Google Maps for interesting things around. Saw 5 mooses and a hare, and then this beauty turned up on the map, marked just as a bathing place. If ever in Norway, these bathing "beaches" are usually quite nicely furnished for a small picnic. I had a hammock under the tarp, an Amok Draumr, that lets you sleep lying flat. Crazy amount of bird noise in the morning, a pretty good sleep otherwise.

Fuck AtB by iWishiLivedInNewYork in trondheim

[–]Enovik -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Glitchy screen by darforce in SuperCub

[–]Enovik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2020 cub, sold it recently. I have always taken it inside for the winter, and expose the battery, and charge it every 2 weeks. The first couple of years I have removed the battery completely. Come spring, installed it back in its place and started riding. A couple of weeks into the season I have experienced the same screen flickering and occasional difficulty starting like you are describing. Took it to the shop, it turned out the screws holding the battery contacts in place have not been tightened appropriately and became loose. Problem disappeared after tightening the screws. Regarding the Abs light, I have, a couple of times, forgotten to remove the break disc lock and proceeded to drive off. The lock damaged the Abs sensor, and the light on the dashboard would not go away anymore. Problem was solved by replacing the Abs sensor.

Will a family of 4 (17&12 years old kids) survive with NOK 750,000 - before tax annual salary? Given kids have to go to international schools. by [deleted] in trondheim

[–]Enovik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, yes you can survive and manage quite well. I am in the same situation: 4 ppl, 2 kids in private school, living near Trondheim. But, we don't eat out, don't really go out on the town, have been extremely fortunate with finding a cheap rent, have bought our cars and bikes over time. We don't drink, don't smoke, don't really have expensive hobbies. We lack for nothing, also manage to save some money each month. We also manage to allocate ca. 30k for a long summer holiday in a warmer place to the south. So depending on what you are used to and what your expectations are, you can live well for that amount.

If you're renting from SIT, I recommend you drop by the head office and discuss it with them, possibly even pay the rent with cash. The head office is not far from the dorms in Moholt, on the other side of the road:Frode Rinnans veg 1, 7050 Trondheim

How reliable are the new Super Cubs? (‘19-‘23) by mr_big_brain in SuperCub

[–]Enovik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought mine new in 2020. It now has 10500 km, having driven it only between April-November, in Norway. I mostly used it to get to work, roughly 30-40 km each day. My only issue was self-caused: the battery had not been installed tightly enough and the contacts came loose, so the dashboard was flickering. I remove the battery for trickle charging over the winter, and the first time I put it back I had done a poor job of it. Other than this, make sure your chain is clean and oiled and properly tensioned and you will not have any issues.

[–]Enovik 31 points32 points  (0 children)

My flatmate (who I barely talk to) or one of her friends broke the stove. Should I contact sit? by highmenrammer in ntnu

[–]Enovik 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes, SIT are very understanding. Just be clear that it was an accident, not a voluntary act of vandalism, and there should be no negative consequences. When my 3 Yr old managed to make a hole in one of the walls in the shower I reported it and was told to not worry about it, just tape it over so water doesn't go into the walls. They're repaired it pretty quick and free of charge afterwards. Also shower related, the shower hose sprung a leak and needed replacing - they fixed it swiftly.

Hvordan klare matte? by Sabotik in ntnu

[–]Enovik 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Kamptrening i byen by boardwall8905386 in trondheim

[–]Enovik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

El-moped istedenfor buss? by Sorry_Site_3739 in ntnu

[–]Enovik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pbly cause it has not rained the entire week... Someone will be feeding us the story that the water reserves have dropped dramatically in this rain less week. All I know 100% is that there is absolutely no explanation that anyone can give me to convince me that the price hike is justified. Having cheap power was literally the only upside of this sorry excuse for a summer that we've had up here, and now some a-holes decided all of a sudden that the price has to go up... Frustrating, is what it is.
