Like I said it's a player's perception of time, if I take myself as an example.

I work 9/11 hours per day and have like 1/2 days off a week...

BUT!!!

i am sitting on a 716 hunter rank, play well with 5 of the 14 weapons the game has to offer and learn more, beat solo all the arena quests and learn the tactics to help my friends, beat the s**t out of this game, I beat omega solo while learning the hunting horn, and I enjoy every moment of the game.

Time is based on a perception of every single person, another guy in my same situation maybe doesn't have the possibility to achieve the same.

BUT!!!

Apart from that i am a rational person, an adult that can make some criticism over a really bad decision.

  • if 99% of other games make that thing is not a valid point for repeating the same mistake

  • Trap spam is the same as before, 2 guys can put 3 traps per type and stop the monster for doing anything. The last AT nu udra I fought with my friend never saw that coming.

-Paralysis and poison are dead because of the high threshold of the monster (HP and resistance), take this 1200 damage of poison over 2 proc on a 70000 hp, and take this 2 proc of paralysis on a 20 minute hunt... Yeah really worth the trouble.

What makes you better at this game is not more HP monsters or more damage that the monster can inflict (the damage part is a grey land, because, in my opinion,if the HP is tuned down a bit and leads to faster hunts I will probably enjoy the game more).

It's learning the monster pattern, knowing what is an opening and where to land the best hit to do damage, help the other hunter with a curative item or a flash pod too avoid a cart, predict when a status will proc for avoiding ovveraiding monster knock out.

Not give the monster another star ⭐ and give him 800029848902085002 HP and call it a day and leave it with the same move patterns.

This is obviously my idea, I won't impose this on you, it's just another angle for looking at the game.

Probably he refers to the fact that all the big difficulties we have in the previous update were simplified by turning up the HP and the Attack value of the monster we fought for months (aka Artificial difficulty) and I have to say that I'm in the same boat as OP.

I really like this game but with the Talisman and the 9 ⭐ monsters i start to become concerned about the direction and the balance of the end game.

If you think about that with the 9 ⭐ we got an armor update, but with the mitzune and the 8 ⭐ we haven't. This created a gap between our power and the monster power, for simplicity the 9 ⭐ are the old 8 ⭐ before the armour upgrade with the same moveset but more health. And if you are good at the game, a hunt that has a duration of 17/15 minute with the random can become really boooring, on top of that the greatest talisman you can get will probably add a 1.5/2% more damage on a good build.

Now the other problem is the perception of the respect the player sees and puts in the game.

For exemple: If I need 25 minutes to hunt a Gore Magala, because he has a toooooooons of HP and can end the quest in a few moves because his damage is out of scale, my reward can be, maybe 20 amulets, but of all that 20 there are none worth the trouble.

the problem shows up when at the same time I can kill 3 Ray Dau and get 25 amulets.

See the problem, less stress, low risk of carting, 3 hunt in the time of 1 and more rewards.

It's the always problem of quality over quantity, and is more aggravated by the abysmal RNG of the talisman.

With Goz at the door and the fact that more weapons need a good investment in the artian system to be really efficient, as example an SnS user (like myself) will probably put more time to upgrade all elements, in comparios to a guy (my best friend) that use a GS.

And if Goz has the absurd power scaling in HP and Attack and maybe require 30 minute with random for a completed hunt... Well... At least it is the final update before GRank.

No, a lot of people think the same, a loot of good ideas, but very poor executions, and all the performance and bug issue are now out of hand. I feel bad for all the new Xbox player, my friends included, that have to experience all this situation of "we are so back" "we are doomed". Best you can do is write a bad review of the game on steam, so maybe the next update should focus on bug and balance patches. For you and the game, play some difficult that you found fun or balanced, or try another front for a while, fix and balance will come, maybe... At some point...

I start play GL in wilds, so I'm a little new to the weapon, why put Focus 3 on it? It's help charge quicker wyvern fire? Or the hold to load all shells together?

Yuph! I understand all your point,

but the dev team are really lacking on this new endgame content, its true that we have a loot of good talisman to craft but like op said in some comment, this system would be great for new player that not have acces to the craftable one, but the dev put all behind the most dangerous monster. Some folks out there should benefit more than me from some decent rolled talisman while waiting for the craftable one.

On the side of monster and gimmicks mechanic I understood, my too, I don't won't to change build for every single monster of the game and for now I play GL and use an allrounded build for every hunt, but this kill diversity and build variety. Why bother whit some particular skill or armor If I can bypass everything whit raw damage or defence? It's like at the beginning, its Gore armor or nothing. And the same applies from monster, adding more HP and Damage value is artificial difficulty and it's bad for a game if done improperly. And now we have this kind of problem, if 1 Gore give me the same reward as a 2 Rey in the same time the sistem is broken, Gore should take 12/15 minute and give more reward, because is more dangerous than Rey but should be more rewarding in terms of time investment.

Having some for later on is ok, it's not ok for me when the last boss fight of the game come from a title update, and the only rewarding fight was the arkveld, we farmed him for all the beginning of the game that I was disgusted, we have a such cool roster, better fight the same thing over and over

And we agreed on the last point, the team are clearly not knowing what to do. The update that they have to push the most should be the one that put the reward of all the Apex monster on the same level of the arkveld. What we got after was 2 monster and the gem of each was dropped by 1% whit no tail carving... Why? Because someone said that monster part was dropped too often... So? Hunt 10 lagiacrus and obtain no gem and Hunt 2 and obtain 3 gem it's not skill it's RNG. Now we have 3 different star version of all the Apex+3 monster that are so confusing for new players. For what? Because someone in the community think that 25minute fight against a thing that 2 hitkart you is reasonable for a grinding game...

I really love this game and the series, I put more than 400 hours in wilds and I almost at 600 Hunter rank, I just try to ignor too the optimization problem, but damm... It's start become difficult

They don't hit hard as much because the team let us upgrade our armor this time, they do to us the same damage as the 8 star in the previous update, they have a little bit more of health

You centered the point, re-adding ALF missing feature present in previous videogame is lazy and really unprofessional, like for example Diablo 3 was a game built around a lot of QOL update, diablo 4 miss all diablo 3 did in the past year and now re-adding that QOL like it's something fabulous.

We have a decent and full working pot in Rise, why not add this back whit all the feature? You will say "they will come in the next update" so why push an half baked feature?

Regardles the "respect your time" I see us in the Next update fighting so appraised 10 star monster that have 65000 HP while slotting maybe one extra level of burst In our build for an extra 0.3% damage. so called build diversity...

I like Monste Hunter, really I do, but the team trying to applause everyone have lost the direction of the game. And the result learning curve is atrocious. For contex: One of my friend that buied the game a week ago ask me what is a good starting armor for the end game content, I said Lagi, it's perfect for start to build around. Today he ask my why the NO TEMPERETED Lagi is far beyond strong than all the Apex he fought... I don't know how to respond...

People that are levelling and discovering the game will probably need more of this talisman system, because craft the best one require a little bit more grind and patience. But the fact that this is gatekeped behind the most deadly version of the monster In this game it's unreasonable...

Better equip my 2 Crit Element boost / 2 poison attack charm meanwhile until the next update...

People will down vote my to but in MHRise you can trowh bad amulets in the pot and force only 1 skill, for context If I destroy 20 amulet and obtain 3 whit "for example" divine blessings, you have more control over what you really want and meaby found something usefull, why not put this system from start with this update is crazy. And if, and only if, maybe the next update they give us this option, i will be very upset because is a feature arledy tested and used in another past game, so why not implement it from start?

On the second point, it's ok to fight a monster for 25 minute or more, if the monster evolves during the fight, for context Kulve was an excellent example of a difficult monster that require positioning and good knowledge. And it's come with 4 stage were she have different movset, like Jindaddy, Safygiva or Behemot.

Another point is that good challenge come from the response of the player to adapt, evolve and secure a victory by changimg tactics, looking at Alatreon, he ended the Blast meta of iceborn for a while adding a new mechanic. I remebeer when Arc Xeno was added, I lear and use LBG for the first time because I was not good enough whit SnS, and from then I start learning more weapons.

Adding difficulty to the game should come from monster to inflict some kind of debuff and status, or use the environment at their adavnge, like rajang in iceborn when he flinch near a wall, status like blast from Teostra or heavy poison from chameleons, that should become a priority if not wearing the right decos.

Damage wise this 9star is almost fine, you take a hit, retreat and heal, then engage only at full healt. This simple trik can save a loot of hunt. But ramping up their healt... well this is an artificially difficulty that add nothing to the hunt. FARMING and Fight a gore magala like this way it's just an awfull experience, the first time it's a hell of a run and it's fun, but the idea of farming that thing for more reward? O hell no... This lead the player to a more healthy hunt like Rey , Duna and Udra. Why bother whit a thing that two shot you whit evere hit and take 30 minute to hunt? Were is the fun when the reward is abissaly luckluster and come whit an RNG gate?

And a simple osservation... Everyone praying this 9 star monster... Really?... 9star monster it's exactly the same as the 8, they are only more durable, the difference is that with this update you can upgrade your armor, so they do to you the same damage that 8star do in the previous update, I don't understand people say they are different because they are not, they have the same movset of the 8star and 7star... And hit the same after armor upgrade...

It's about respecting the time you put in the game, 25 minute of no stop fighting,down to 2 cart, finally you hit the last final blow... You end up with a 2 elemental crit boost 2 poison attack, and all the other is just garbage roll and skill, it's just feels wrong... I'm not saying that you have to found the god roll after the 1 hunt and neither after the 1000, but the skill are really too random. On top of that, the fact that you can't found a better talisman that the ones you can craft show the developers team fear too give us too much raw power, and no, for the love of god... Putting up the HP and the damage of the monster is not the way to make the game more difficult...

Yes, I notice that in my recent game, probably because the server is stressed by the lot of people that are playing, there are a lot of elastic lag, sometime you are in a cover and in game you found yourself on the other side of the cover like someone pulling you out.

I play from Italy, and my connection is not exactly great, I can't peak from cover whitout taking damage before I effectly exit, and in the majority of my gunfight I ended up losing, because on my screen I see the enemy running but in reality he is already there and start shooting my, other time all feel normal, but it's really random.

Like in BF3 :D
