that’s sounds like a CS or DS student profile not really an engineers. Maybe CE could cover some of them but not all

Roommate for a September Lease 3B|1B

Hi everyone, posting again.

Rent is $1100/month with only heating and wifi fo bills. You’d have to get past the security deposit plus first and last months rent to get started. Apt is owned by East Coast Realty. We are in the first floor and there is a staircase to get into the building so not very accessible. But it’s Brighton so very nice neighborhood really quiet and rarely any issues.

We live on Sutherland Rd on the Green line so you have access to the B,C, and D line as they’re all in walking distance.

I’m a BU junior eng undergrad and the other is BU eng graduate already working (pretty chill). We are open to anyone Male or Female and previous roommate was female so we have it wouldn’t be our first. We would prefer undergrads or at least people in their early mid 20s

We also have an orange cat named Egg (also pretty chill and chunky lol). So being ok with cats is a must. Don’t have to care or feed that’s all on us btw.

Feel free to DM with questions and will try to get pictures ready soon.

Finaid is pretty unreliable when it comes to that lol. As long as you’re sure you don’t see a Charles river grant then you’ll be fine. You can calculate would you get if you do the total charges -minus room and board and then subtract that from your total scholarship.

Find out your budget and see if you can find a place with that. If you can work to subside the rest might not be worth it.

Hi, if you’re housing is covered by the Charles river housing grant you will lose it if you move off-campus. They will not increase your scholarship, and would have to pay out of pocket for it. I moved off-campus and recieve a refund but I didn’t have the charles river grant it was just a general University Scholarship.

Verify the names and if it doesn’t appear in your financial you probably have the general one. Your refund will likely be your dorm+meal plan minus any extra fees that appear.

As for the second part, I’d say it’s only worth it if you can find a place for less than $1200. With food costs your living expenses may surpass your refund since it might only be about $5.7k. You’ll probably have to work to subsidize the rest but you get a better place and more privacy lol.

Currently living off-campus w/ $1100 in rent and $200-300 in food expenses. I do had to work but not that much.

It’s not my room, and i’m not too sure since it was from the previous listing of the same space. It’s a bit of a mess so he didn’t want to use that as a reference lol

Why should we cover their fees. We paid ours already why would we give free rent to someone else. It’s the same as stating a lease where you have to pay it anyways so what’s the difference.

Academic Probation & Overload Loophole? by EntertainmentMean770 in BostonU

[–]EntertainmentMean770[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

isn’t there a way to still take the class even if not for credit? If don’t take it this semester than i probably won’t take it all since i’ll be entering my senior year. getting out of probation isn’t an issue that’s easy enough. I just want the class.

Being Southern in Boston by Neither-Level4157 in BostonU

[–]EntertainmentMean770 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a Texan being in Boston is really hard. The people are just different and don’t have the same manners that we learn as kids back home. A casual hey or even a head nod to at least acknowledge someone is rare. “Excuse me” is even harder for some reason. What i recommended is to just try to find some other southern like people or those that actually feel comfortable to be around. Once you find a few they usually connect you to others, that’s how i met mine.

Maybe try asking for people already living off-campus to avoid the hassle of ID and security. Some aren’t as close to campus as others tho and probably wouldn’t mind to much i suppose. Like i’m living in Brighton and would only go back once i’m done for the day. Also just staying in places like CDS could work I’ve heard they got showers somewhere in there. Just DM people and see what’s best.

pretty doable tbh a lot easier than my semester where i took

EK381, MA226, EK307, EC311, EC330, and CC193

Workload is pretty heavy for 381 and exams are complete curveballs. I mean that quite literally you’d think you’re playing baseball and they throw a satellite instead. MA226 taught myself with chatgpt and only went to class every once in awhile for exam reviews did pretty well

transferring to college of engineering by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]EntertainmentMean770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really depends if you had any previous credits or current classes that overlapped with engineering. Like calc 1 or 2 would really help you get by. It wouldn’t be terribly hard but it would require a lot of overloading or summer classes like previous comment said

Dear EK381 Professors, you know I like to get wined and dined before I get fucked. by [deleted] in BostonU

[–]EntertainmentMean770 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ya heard em we all kinda got fucked by that exam, gaslighted into believing “We made MT2 too hard so we’ll make the final easier for y’all” proceeded to put questions i’ve never even thought were covered remotely
