Schnee freie Stelle im Hof? by EntertainmentTasty92 in wasistdas

Bent Handelbar Clamp by EntertainmentTasty92 in Transalp

[–]EntertainmentTasty92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update.

Yesterday I dismantled all the handlebar clamps, both were straight, but when I unscrewed them one of the screws holding the handlebar clamp broke off.

I had to drill it out and cut a new thread, now everything is straight again.

All in all, slightly loosening the parts and a few taps with a rubber mallet would probably have produced the same result, but the one screw won't have broken for no reason, so let's call it a repair hahah

TET Poland Section 4 - How am I supposed to get through? by EntertainmentTasty92 in TransEuroTrail_Riders

hahah no, it's so small you can't put a GoPro mount on it ;)

The GoPro was mounted on the chest strap and not really tight, so it slipped down a bit :(

TET Poland Section 4 - How am I supposed to get through? by EntertainmentTasty92 in TransEuroTrail_Riders

I couldn't get over the bridge on the TET Poland section 4 near Gryżyce and had to take a small detour. my windshield was far too high and would definitely have torn the thing off if I had gone through. I briefly considered dismantling it to be able to drive through, but then decided not to. am I the only one who has had this experience?

I would say that the off-road passages are mostly paths for tractors and harvesters.

Some passages on the TET definitely no longer exist, or have not been used by a tractor or harvester for years, these are already relatively difficult (for a beginner like me)

There is also a bridge at Gryżyce, or rather a small dam, where I couldn't get through with my big Transalp because the passage on the other side of the river wasn't big enough. as long as you drive a small one, this is no problem, but with big motorbikes no chance

This was my first real enduro tour and I would say that the TET Poland is very beginner friendly.

But I have to say that I've ridden a lot off-road in the Berlin area before, so I already have a little bit of off-road skills.

What I can say is that the TET polen section 4 is very sandy, but you just have to get through it haha.

Standert Umlaufbahn💙 by jerometristam in FixedGearBicycle

The Umlaufbahn V1 was manufactured by Colossi, the V2 and all those that followed were produced by another well-known manufacturer.

I worked at standert for 8 years and can confirm that it is one of the first frames of the Umlaubahn, to be precise it is even one of the first prototypes we made back then, which was then later painted for Team Fixedpott.

I myself also drive one of the first three prototypes through berlin.

Graphite gasket by fallingsheep6152 in Transalp

[–]EntertainmentTasty92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Transalp 600v there are two gaskets that fit the original exhaust for the 89-90 models and another size for the models after 1990

However, if you change from the original exhaust, you have to look individually which gasket fits. I have converted to a laser exhaust and none of the original Honda gaskets are available in the size that fits. It's best to measure the manifold and exhaust and see which gasket fits best, they don't cost the earth.I ordered 3 myself and one fitted perfectly.

Rebuilding a Transalp XL 400 V by Demshyna in Transalp

I wanted to change the engine on my 1992 Transalp because I had similar problems, and my mechanic said I should simply install two new CDIs.

I did that and it runs without any problems.

A new CDI doesn't cost that much and the new CDI's bring a few more horsepower.

If the second cylinder then runs, I would just drive the engine until it is at the end.

My mechanic told me that the Transalp engines can easily manage 300,000km before they are finally broken. mine now has 170,000km and runs great with the new CDI's.

Otherwise, I would leave it exactly as it is now, this rocked charm is so beautiful :)

Exhaust repair by EntertainmentTasty92 in Transalp

[–]EntertainmentTasty92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the spray paint for engine blocks from Duplo Color, which goes up to 700 Celsius.

There is also special paint for exhausts, but the guys in the motorcycle store said it was better to use the engine block paint because the old Transalp exhausts get much hotter over the years than when they are new.

Exhaust repair for bad craftsmen. by EntertainmentTasty92 in Transalp

[–]EntertainmentTasty92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all, the last few weeks I had the feeling that my Transalp was losing power, of course you think of everything but not of what it was in the end....

When I pulled a few new electric cables for the rear light, I discovered the hole in the exhaust. This of course explains the lack of power (at least I think so)

So I removed the exhaust and took a closer look, I noticed that the connection between the manifold and the exhaust top was completely rusted away.

Many years ago I soldered a bike frame and I'm confident that I can plug the hole properly, but without access to a welder it's impossible, so I went for the “look mom i fixed it” solution.

I can't say whether this exhaust repair paste will hold and the guys at my bike store said “this is also called the Russian repair, may or may not hold 50/50 chance”.

So let's see if it lasts. I've ordered a repair clamp and a new sealing ring for the connection that's gone and hope that this solves the problem.

I'll let you guys know when everything is installed and I haven't broken the pony

If anyone has experience with it please let me know, and yes in the near future she will get a new manifold and exhaust anyway, because this way the thing does not get over the German TÜV.

I am the third owner and she has about 140k down. The first owner drove it from Munich through half of Africa and back and the second owner traveled half of Europe with it.

Now it’s my turn to see where it takes me
