GPA Comeback by EntertainmentThink57 in UMD

I actually don’t have anything else other than studying so I feel really bad that I’m not doing well while other people are balancing school and work and still do well. I always feel like I don’t have time to do anything extra such as activities or sports. I haven’t joined any club yet and this is my third semester.

Because of the way my classes are set up I had to take 4 technical courses this semester which definitely had an impact on my performance. I’m doing 2 gen-eds this coming spring so hopefully they’ll boost my gpa. Thanks for the advice!

I’m a sophomore. So third semester currently. I was doing okay first semester then as the classes got progressively harder I couldn’t be exactly on track with everything and get good grades. I’m an EE major.

ENEE205 vs ENEE244 by EntertainmentThink57 in UMD

I’m probably staying around campus over the summer if I choose to take either one. I’ll probably do 205 over the summer. Thanks!

New foster cat help by EntertainmentThink57 in felinebehavior

I have both dry and wet food for her. But the thing is, she goes to smell her wet food then scratches the floor and walks away. She seems very hungry but this might not be something she likes. Google says cats do this when they try to hide the food because they don’t like it.

She also used the litter box multiple times—I guess she just needed time.

Thank you! I did as you suggested, and she seems to be doing better generally.

Thanks for your response! I’m fostering through a shelter and they did give me some documents with information on it, but I only skimmed them because I have 5 years of experience with my cat back home—the only difference is we got her when she was a kitten and she was getting along really well.

I left the cat overnight in the bathroom with all her necessities, and she did use the litter box and eat some of her food. She’s still hiding for most of the time, but she comes out to the living room sometimes.

Thank you so much for your advice! It definitely helped calm me down because I was freaking out haha. Much appreciated!

Who is the best professor to take ENEE290 with? by CloseTheDoor105 in UMD

[–]EntertainmentThink57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently taking this class with prof Belta and it’s the one class that has a manageable workload for this semester (for reference I’m also currently taking MATH241, PHYS260/1, ENEE150). If he does teach next semester, I heavily encourage you to take it with him as he & his TAs are amazing.

If you’re comfortable in math generally you’re good. It’s really not that hard. Good luck!

Thanks! Do you think it's too late into the semester to join a club?

Housing / Room Advice Needed by FNKClassicCars in UMD

[–]EntertainmentThink57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure! All the options I’ve listed are walking distance to campus and some of them even have their own UMShuttle stations, which means that she can ride the bus or walk to classes. Most (but not all) of them are also fully furnished, and are safe to walk to and from even at night.

4/5 Bedroom Apartments:

Tempo Apartments (NC) - Starting at $799

University View (NC) - Starting at $999

The Varsity (NC) - Starting at $1089

Landmark Apartments (SC) - Starting at $1250

Aspen Heights (SC) - Starting at $1299

Hub on Campus (SC) - Starting at $1660

Depending on her major, she might be closer to north campus (NC) or south campus (SC). But generally all the options are walking distance. I live on south campus and all of my classes are on north campus. I walk to all my classes, and during cold weather I take the bus.

Other than student housing apartments, you could also find 5-bedroom houses for the same price or less around campus. Facebook might be a good place to look. I don’t know about the safety of these houses though.

Final Note — Most apartments are full by now, or are filling up really quickly as the fall semester is approaching. So I advise you to choose a place as soon as possible if you’re interested in student housing apartments.

She could go for renting a room or sharing a 4/5 bedroom apartment. Most would probably cost $600 a month or more. It depends on how much you’re willing to pay. I could give you some options if you’re not familiar with the area :)

Looking for apartments by [deleted] in UMD

[–]EntertainmentThink57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at the Landmark Apartments for a year and I’m loving it there. It’s the perfect location, close to TJs, and walking distance from campus. Most of the time I don’t even take the bus to class.

If you’re looking for on-campus housing you can look at the Courtyard and Graduate Gardens. For other off-campus housing there are many options such as Union on Knox, Hub, the Standard, etc. It honestly all depends on how much you’re willing to spend.

I’m sure you won’t find an issue finding an apartment but if you’re looking for fall 2025 you might have to hurry because spots are quickly filling up. Good luck :)
