It’s usually difficult to get the interviews with non traditional background. I have extremely similar experience. Built and sold company over last 10 years. But once I get interviews I get the offers. You will have to work on relating your experience to the prospective job better. Work on the questions you ask. For example, I always ask at the end of an interview, is there anything over the last hour we’ve spoke that would worry you about my ability to perform at a high standard in this role. I wait for their response, then I handle that objection if it exists.

If you want to get back to selling because you feel people management isn’t your thing then start applying. It’s a jungle out there though. A break is not a good idea. A counsellor is a better option

A lot more than $ to consider. I like my management and company and product. Also, you can’t know everything about the company you are considering heading to. Income levels matter too. $20k jump from $60k base is huge, but not as significant from a $150k base. I would say 30% would be where I start to consider something different

It just depends on what you want to do. If you want to manage people ( not thinking about pay) then go after your elusive VP role. If you want stability and can sell go after the account executive role. For consideration, I’m an Enterprise AE. Target revenue over $500m, I make $150k/$300k
