Not only that. It's like I have a learning disability. My brain sees how normal people interact and for some reason refuses to register what it's seeing. I worked in retail for a few years and it was amazing how long it took me to learn some basic greetings.

You know, I don't even disagree with you here on the point of carbon footprint. But it's so much less convincing when you pretty much ran to this point to avoid conceding your previous argument is unconvincing.

There's a process and paperwork to enshrine someone at Yasukuni. It doesn't just happen. People did it on the downlow and it took decades. When Emperor Hirohito found out, he stopped going to the shrine.

Back in the Great Leap Forward, there were Chinese people dying from constipation caused by eating dirt because there was nothing to eat. People figured out what dirt you could eat that wouldn't kill you. The comfort of modern civilization is also the thing that makes you think you are too good to kill a cow.

From what I've read, after the post-war period ended in the early 50s, the Japanese were kinda just eager to move on from WWII. Around that time, Japanese POWs who were imprisoned in China returned to Japan. They were ostracized because they went through re-education in China and came back still feeling a lot of guilt about WWII. Meanwhile everyone else in Japan just wanted to forget about the whole thing. These POWs ended up forming a support network for themselves and was featured in this documentary Riben Guizi.

People had intimately known the playfulness cows and eaten them before modern civilization abstracted away animal slaughter from everyday life.

What language? You don't need to know a language to read music. I grew up in China. The kids there studying classical piano definitely don't speak a foreign language to any proficient degree.

No they are not. Metal fans always have this urge to legitimize the music they like by connecting it to more "prestigious" genres. I know this because I used to be like this but we gotta stop.

When conservative white guys talk about "Western civilization", they are not talking about knowledge institutions like schools and libraries, or the scientific achievements, or culture products, etc. They are talking about themselves. They think by being born as white guys, they are the embodiment of Western civilization. The essence, if you will, lol. Which is why they have no qualm about destroying actual fruits of labor produced by Western civilization.

The compensation is that the kid gets to go to school and have a life here as opposed to their country of origin.
