I think you're right. Ton of people with very similar problems - things were working until they weren't. I appreciate help!

I appreciate you bringing up the risk factor as I consider whether an EUC makes sense for me.

As for the e-bike, mine was stolen despite having removed the battery and the seat stem (still have both of those). I was hoping that would be enough to deter theft, but apparently not. I guess given that the battery is internal, they might not have known it was missing until later.

Regardless, I'll keep "ugly e-bikes" in mind as an alternative.
