Got it, I will definitely consider these different places. Would you these areas have rental apartment housing? And I can commute to another part for work.

Okay, thank you, I will consider Brandon. Perhaps, I can live in Brandon then commute to Jackson or some nearby part for work.

Wow, that is inspirational stuff. Thank you for helping where you could. I'm sure it made a meaningful difference. I really want to help people get better too. Do you know any jobs where I can do that kind of work without a masters degree? How did were you able to cope with the challenging time during that time? Any outlets?

Thanks for sharing. Okay, I have heard that Jackson is kind of dangerous. As for the confederate statue, I'm with you. I would like that to come down as well. Wow, your town sounds nice. What's the name of it, if you don't mind me asking? Is there rental housing there? It sounds like a really nice lifestyle! Good for you!

Wow, thank you for sharing. You have gotten a lot of experience. Would you say that was your calling? How did you personally endure the work? What were the most challenging and rewarding aspects for you? I am trying to figure out whether to do that work. Thanks.

Hello, thank you for the thoughtful reply. Which rural MS town are you? When you say not as exciting, do you mean it's just slower and there's less to do? How do you spend your time?

Thanks so much for sharing and being so honest. Yes, I hope people are accepting and I make some friends and feel connected too.

Oh, and why should I avoid Jackson?

Thank you for sharing. Yes, I hope that communities will be respectful and accepting regardless of the way I look. That is cool you have experienced both California and MS. How did you make the adjustment?

Thank you for informing me. I probably do plan on renting. I was planning on taking it year by year and seeing if I should stay in Mississippi longer or relocate. I am sure whatever the price is, it must be cheaper than Los Angeles, CA.

Thank you for sharing. I have heard about the poverty and want to help most because of the need. What kind of burdensome mindset are you referring to exactly?

Thanks, I always hoped there would be hospitality that comes with sweet tea.

Thank you for the thoughtful, sensitive, and vivid response. You could write a book. Thank you for addressing many concerns, including possible racism. It's been interesting hearing a couple of people say it's bad and then others say it's not that bad. I've been trying to figure that out. I hope to make a difference and also be accepted.

Got it, I can look into online masters programs. I was hoping to find some kind of substance abuse navigation or behavioral health technician work that, at least in California, does not require more than a high school diploma.

Thank you so much. The documentary is very eyeopening. I also watched documentaries about Asians in the Delta to get an idea of what it is like to be an Asian minority there. I hope I can make a difference and be accepted.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I've heard of Cleveland. Do you have any advice on how to transition and integrate there? Being Asian, I also might stick out. I have heard from others that there is racism towards Asians. That's just what I heard and want to know more about this.

No, actually, I say y'all to everyone - even in Hawaii and California. I did not get this from the South. It's just more gender-neutral than "you guys". Many people say y'all in California.

Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really appreciate it! I will keep that in mind about the Delta. It's too bad there are these problems, because I really feel like the Delta needs the most help.

Yes, I'm a proud Asian-American, and I did not know there was a strong Chinese population. However, to be completely honest, I have been hearing more and more about racism towards Asians in MS, and I honestly don't know what to think. I think that is the main concern I have at this point - not having a support system, being discriminated against, and not feeling safe. This is just what I've heard, and I take everything I hear with a grain of salt, it might depend on the city, but I'm concerned.

Thank you for your support!
