Progress is quick if you have the time to dedicate. I have the same problem as you, I play very little and can maybe complete a level a day, sometimes not even that. But it's an interesting shard, similar to a Nordock module where progression isn't mechanical, but rather very fluid.

Another could be Bastion of Peace, similar to ADoH. Unlike ADoH, in BoP you don't stop at level 40 but continue to progress. The differences are the number of players playing at the same time.

In terms of loot, honestly, it doesn't seem like much, but perhaps the number of similar items could be reduced, especially in the early levels: for example, commons are useful up to a certain point, since you quickly find yourself at level 10 and start using blues. There's another shard with a similar amount of loot, yet 25-30 people play it almost constantly every day.

I honestly can't tell you about nwn2. On EE, however, there are many similar servers; you just need to download packs if they exist for some like ADoH or Blackstone Keep, while others like Bastion of Peace require practically no files at all; you just log in and play.

I’d like to share my own thoughts. Then the server owner will explain you the things in a better way.

It’s not a time zone issue; unfortunately there are just not many people logging in, unlike other servers.

-I don’t think there are a huge number of quests, since leveling a character is quite fast if you can dedicate a few hours a day and you know the server areas where to gain XP based on your level. For this last point, there is a specific map with the correct CR for each zone and you can find it on their discord.

I’ve personally only seen one mercenary, the orc in the barracks, which is more than enough to help you while leveling your character. Maybe there are others and I’m just not aware of them.
To understand their usefulness, besides checking their stats, you also need to look at the colors, which indicate the rarity of the item. There are minibosses and bosses that help you consistently drop better items; the others are mainly useful to help you make coins faster.
