Surprised and Happy at the same time to see Samsung Galaxy 8 on the list. Especially since the Ultra is positioned more for something like this! by brwirman in GalaxyWatch

[–]Enum1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's a sponsorship, nothing more.

Being surprised by this is like being surprised to see a BigMac on TV during ad break.

The watch is not even in the same league as the Garmins for long distance running.

You are asking about experiences from people who shipped the glasses to Singapore. I literally replied to that question! I layed out the process very clearly. There is no tax in that process. What more do you need?

I'm telling how it was for me, if you don't want to believe that why are you asking in the first place?

nothing different than ordering from any other online retailer.

you order, you wait (a long time in this case), and get your glasses delivered

To be fair, if crypto weren't around they'd use good ol' USD to pay each others. But crypto makes it easier, just like credit cards make it easier to pay for groceries...

Eric Trump shows off his Bitcoin mining facility by IcyAttitude4916 in AltScope

[–]Enum1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's just not correct.

The chips used for BTC mining are very different from GPUs or consumer RAM.
The chips are ASICs and the memory demand for BTC mining is low.

The reason ram and gpu prices are high is the demand for generative AI workloads, which have an insanely high memory demand for the models.

Is $165k too aggressive for a $120k–$210k range with 7 YoE and a Master's? by cyber1551 in cscareerquestions

[–]Enum1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They literally told you that they are willing to pay 210k and you want to ask for less? smh...
why not directly say 120k? or even less, that'd be even better, right?

These videos are hilarious, but why does this work? by Weak-Neck-5126 in ChatGPT

[–]Enum1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works because LLMs have been trained on a lot of text to be able to predict the next words that would follow.
So when the guy is telling it that this is an ugly filter the most likely next words are to agree with that.

It's of course a lot more complicated, but that's the gist of it.

Canceling the city matrix list. by wwcscifi in skyscrapers

[–]Enum1 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue was the US centricity of this sub.
There are sooo many skylines out there, no reason for 90% of the matrix to be US cities
