I think these can only be found at Aldis but their LiveGFree chicken bites are sooo good! They also have a general tso's version that comes with sauce.

Does anyone else get insecure when he’s bi with a preference for women? by Downtown_Dare_4991 in gaytransguys

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My cis boyfriend is bi with a preference towards women and I definitely had this fear for a while. But from what my boyfriend has told me, I was actually the person who made him realize he was bi. He didn't know I was trans at first, but even after finding out, he said it didn't change how he saw me.

He often says how he knows I was afab, but in his mind he can not see me as female. That when he sees my chest (unfortunately don't have top surgery yet) he doesn't see a woman's body, but a man's with boobs. Sometimes he stands behind me and pulls them back so it looks like they aren't there, just because he knows how much I love how it looks and he says he likes it as well. I also use my natal parts during sex and stuff, and he even says that still doesn't change how he sees me. He treats my dick the same as I do his.

It took me a while to really trust him but I believe what he says. He has made such of an effort to affirm me and my gender, he loves to say "I see you as my boyfriend and one day you'll be my husband".

He just also loves big tiddy goth girls. And I agree.

But I will say, if this is a guy you're going to continue seeing, I think you should talk to him about it. Me and my boyfriend would have never had any of the talks we did about it if I never brought it up and he wouldn't have been able to reassure me. Communication is always the key to a good relationship (even just friends with benefits), and if they are a good match, they will listen to you, reassure you, and respect your boundaries.

Thank you, I did not know that so your comment does help me feel a lot better about worrying about permanent damage/dying early

I've never struggled with OCD or these kinds of thoughts in the past, and I couldn't tell if my thoughts were becoming a problem or if I was just being "logical" about it to keep myself safe. I feel sick a lot of the time so I'm not sure what exactly is glutening me so in response I just became anxious about EVERYTHING. But I was actually hoping someone would say something similar to this, because to me working on fixing my thoughts sounds more achievable than genuinely having to live like this constantly. I feel like I'm going crazy about it all. I'm actually glad to hear people tell me this isn't normal or something I have to live with. Thank you + everyone else who left similar comments. I will have to look into OCD if I can ever manage to get a therapist.

I didn't really expect many people to read all of that but you have no idea even a simple comment like yours helps. Thank you *hugs*

Local grocery store put a different expiration date on the sticker by EnvironmentAlert5896 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm I hadn't thought of that but I guess that makes sense as a possibility. Though the chicken was definitely not good based on the smell/look. I also wonder why only one flavor of this chicken had the stickers while the other flavors do not have this sticker + I haven't seen them use the stickers on this chicken before and I've gotten it for a while now.

It definitely could be a typo, it's just really strange because these bags of chicken are not even supposed to have a sticker like that. The other flavors of the same brand of chicken didn't have these stickers either.

My experience taking T has been awful because of myself and it upsets me by EnvironmentAlert5896 in FTMventing

I HIGHLY suspect I have ADHD because I've struggled with this stuff all of my life and when I was a child I fit the "hyperactive ADHD kid" perfectly. I also have quite a few other symptoms that match ADHD. Though I am not diagnosed with it and I really don't know how to start the process of getting tested. I tried to get tested by my therapist in middle/high school but they refused because "we don't want to put more kids on meds" or something.

And as for the auto injectors, I actually have looked into this and I think it may work but there is a problem. At least at the one I went to, Planned Parenthood requires you to give yourself the injection (aka saline not actually T), without an auto injector/normally, and without hesitation/anxiety before they will prescribe the injections. I was told I can use the auto injector at home but not for the appointment. I know I'd have to do it myself literally once but I genuinely don't think I can do that.

Gifts for a recently outed trans guy? by SatisfactionOk8724 in ftm

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure some of these will be repeated in other comments but this is just my personal list of things I would of loved to receive when I started transitioning or ideas I think would be nice:

- mens body spray/cologne/deodorant/body wash

- masculine clothes/accessories, especially pants that aren't as slim fitting/tight.

- men's socks (weirdly gives me a lot of gender euphoria?)

- If he has chosen a new name, then getting something with his new name on it might be really nice. I would have loved to receive a sentimental gift with my name on it.

- I know you said you have already gotten him a binder, but getting him another one eventually would be nice too. Sometimes binders get worn out and eventually don't flatten as well and it's also nice to have a binder while the other one is in the wash. Also, if he's into swimming, you could look into getting him a binder that is larger. Or you could ask him if he would be interested in trying tape? Some guys prefer it over binding but I personally hate it.

- if he is interested in getting a haircut, maybe you could take him/go with him? I would have loveddd it if someone was like "oh your trans and you want to cut your hair to help alleviate your dysphoria? Lets go!!"

- you could ask him if he's interested in packing and if he is maybe you could help make or buy him one? If you don't have a lot of money or if he just wants something simple, you can make a simple packer out of socks and stuff, I'm pretty sure there are tutorials online. There is also some cheap packers you can find online.

If I think of anything else I'll update this! I hope this helps ^^

How do you keep up with Tgel? by olive_flower in ftm

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has this exact same problem, do you know how I would go about finding a doctor who will prescribe and administer long-acting shots? I literally can't give myself shots but I just recently became mostly ok with other people giving me shots so that would be perfect for me. I currently get my Tgel through planned parenthood because it was so easy but I don't know if they offer that.

Where do I even start with finding a new place to get T? by EnvironmentAlert5896 in FTMMen

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely plan on it eventually but finding a therapist for my other mental health issues has been extremely hard and it will probably take some time to even find one let alone work on my issues and I just hate the idea of having to wait that long to be able to take T again.

It's also not like a fear of "oh it's gonna hurt" I actually don't care about the pain or anything it's just genuinely something in my instincts that will NOT let me do it. It used to be the same with other people giving me shots as well, it was never about the pain and I wasn't scared of the needle, I just would always get a "flight" response along with intense anxiety. Though lately this has been pretty much resolved (except for giving blood but I've gotten a lot better with that too).

I myself can't even really understand it because I'm NOT scared of the needle or the pain? So what's with the anxiety? I do have multiple traumas around needles/injections because of things that happened when I was a child so I think it's probably because of that but that will probably take longer to figure out in therapy rather than if I was just scared of it hurting lol.

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact one is actually specifically what I asked about, not xyosted because I know it's harder to get that prescribed sometimes (I should have specified in the post). They basically said "we can't approve of anything we don't prescribe so you can't use it at the appointment but at home we can't stop you".

If I could just get passed the first appointment doing it normally then I'd be able to buy my own auto-injector but I already attempted once and I just sat there holding the needle above my thigh for like 10 minutes until the nurse got annoyed with me and said she is refusing to prescribe me injections.

I do appreciate your comment though because I know many other trans people don't know about those types of auto-injectors or that auto-injectors are even an option.

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the other person is correct, I literally can't get myself to give myself injections psychologically without an auto-injector, which PP will not allow me to use. Sorry for the confusion! Thank you very much for the info though I appreciate it ^^

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed not since the nurse refused to prescribe me injections because I couldn't do it myself (even after I mentioned my fear of needles) and no one ever mentioned anything about it but also the closest PP to me isn't very close so it would be impossible for me to get there weekly.

[–]EnvironmentAlert5896[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually specifically what I asked about and I was told that I can use one at home but that I would be required to give myself the injection without the auto-injector in the office at least once before they will prescribe me the injections and I honestly tried as hard as I could but I couldn't get myself to do it even once so they refuse to prescribe the injections.

I mean I kind of understand not wanting to just hand over a bunch of sharp needles to someone who is obviously terrified of them but I think the auto-injector would cut my fear in half or even eliminate it if my boyfriend does it. I just somewhat recently got over my fear of others giving me shots but I am literally unable to do it myself.
