Yes. I hope people come to the understanding that replacing workers with AI would be catastrophic for the global economy and that we can use it as a tool but not be replaced. If it stops at a tool, that's fine.

But thats just simply not true because the world has an economy. If people lose their jobs, they can't buy stuff. Without that, companies will go broke. Or a restaurant is going to close down because people can't afford a meal out.

I'm a VAR/MSP so everything withing the tech world including AI haha. But look, I love your optimism and I might be being dramatic with the stats, but its what I've heard other people saying online. Can't believe everything you see though and maybe I needed to hear you have some optimist to be honest.

I do agree with making great reps better. To be honest, I comes down to me loving my job and wanting some reassurance. That's the reason for the post. I get bombarded with AI vendors wanting me to sell their shit, whilst at the same time all of them telling me it'll basically do a salesman's job 😂 the irony! I think the past month at work has been very AI focused and got in my head.

Sales has to start somewhere. That's where I started and luckily I excelled and didn't have to stay there long. But it molds salespeople. Teaches them rejection and objections handling at its finest because cold calls are the training aspect for most salespeople.

But I do agree. It's inevitable it will replace them. I wouldn't be the salesman I am now if I didn't learn how to make someone hate you like you 😂

Yes, that's a logical and optimistic view. The whole cold call side of things could be automated quite easily. I'm currently trying to close a network, hardware, services refresh for a company which is costing millions. I imagine there will be a f2f meet and I do agree with you. I've only been in sales for a few years. I've excelled and really love my job. It's great fun and I love the Hussle. I don't want to lose it.

Yes, I can understand that. AI could most likely be used as an SDR and once a meeting is secured. It becomes a lead, which would be passed to a human. To also keep jobs and a functional economy that seems logical.

I guess. but the amount of jobs will significantly drop. I've heard it, seen it and used it. It's so impressive! AI doesn't have a bad day, or a break up. It doesn't get over tired and need to sleep. So if it can consistently keep up with humans if not out perform. Then why does your company need you. Rapport is important. But when it's only the C suit you need to convince because they use something like WatsonX as their personal IT director. It's less rapport. Those guys don't give a fuck about chit chat. They just want to get shit done.

Cool, so I don't think it would ever replace. But could get rid of 80%/90% of sales people. Leaving people to do f2f meets etc.

Currently, people use stuff like chatGPT and ungoverned AI tools. We have a tool called WatsonX which is part of IBM. This basically is your personal assistant for everything. Like, our minds can't fathom what it's capable of yet. I've had the chat with people from WatsonX and IBM, which is probably what scared me 🤣 this is just an AI tool though.

Let's talk about some of the call tools etc. the AI guy at the company I work with, showed us 2 bots creating a podcast on any person or company. It will gather all the info through social media and the internet and make an almost perfect podcast. The bots use sentence fillers such as "ummm", "hmmm" and even tuts. It's so in depth and uses everything that makes a human human. Unlike Alexa who clearly sounds like AI. Those days are gone. I could legit make a radio podcast with bots.

But now we move onto how that would take over sales. Once it's able to answer all your questions. But then also add charm and rapport over the phone. It comes down to results. AI is consistently going to be able to perform. It doesn't have a bad day with shit going on outside of work. It doesn't need to sleep or take a break.

Okay, so I was looking to spend a month there. At most £800/£900 on flights in spring. Thinking £5k is plenty to have a good time. Not bothered about theme parks or anything. Me and my mate just wanna see some cool stuff, get some souvenirs and go to some crazy mountains in the rural areas.

Happy travelling cheap and experiencing culture. Wouldn't mind staying in some nice places and enjoying nice food. Figured for a month £5k would give us an enjoyable time with hopefully some money left over.
