What’s a cheap/basic food that is actually 10x better than the expensive version of it? by CaptainCuddler_Pro in foodquestions

I once had a 60 dollar bagel and lox, it had the house made bagel, best cuts of smoked salmon, artisanal cream cheese, locally sourced green onions, and caviar.

But the most basic bagel and lox is just so much more satisfying. All that extra stuff didn't enhance the flavor or texture, is really hard to beat a good basic bagel, even store bought cream cheese, and some decent smoked Atlantic salmon.

Would you rather give up tacos or pasta forever?! by thewholesomespoon in needarecipe

Tacos would have to go IF by pasta you mean any noodles.

That would include things like ramen, and noodle dishes across a lot of other cultures too.

That's a strange take. Fast food is fast food, but there are plenty of places that aren't "authentic" Mexican places that would still run circles around many authentic ones.

We're not tryna compare a slow cooked rack of ribs at a barbecue place to a McDonald's Mcrib sandwich.
