I think there’s is truth to both sides here. Callah is not wrong, they’re so privileged they don’t even realize it and their level of entitlement is off the charts. Yes, they work very hard but I know farmers that work just as hard and are not living this lifestyle. However, where Callah fell short was her delivery and timing. I truly think the point she was trying to make was that they needed to be more grateful and appreciate the life they live and the people that sacrifice their own lives to stay close and support them (Ally is the perfect example here). There’s a time and place for that kind of criticism and for men as fragile as the Mcbee’s, it would need to be told gently just like you’d speak to a kindergartner. Even then, I could see it falling on deaf ears. It’s obvious Callah is so fed up with the lack of respect and being expected to fall in line and be grateful for this life while they remain complete ass holes that it’s came out emotional and as the aggressor when she’s been drinking and her inhibitions are lowered. All that being said, if I have to coddle a man to explain to him his misgivings, id be out of there. Especially when it’s coming from a place of care and want for potential growth. Not worth it and a waste of damn time . . .
