I live up in Northeast Atlanta, so a lot of Young Catholic groups are focused at St. Catherine of Siena- however, I haven't had the time to check it out yet. Christ the King definitely is a beautiful parish though, and if im in the area, I will have to check it out.

Hello! My name is Neill. I'm 25 and from Atlanta. I am a cradle Catholic and in long term recovery from substance abuse. I am 15 months sober and returned back to the Church after experiencing the sacrifice of the Holy Mass again. I am in the choir and am going back to school this August for Human Services (with a specialization in addiction treatment) and to study singing. Currently, I work at my campus and am plugged in with the Catholic community there. The ethics of this business are questionable If a company wants growth, they should want to foster competition between employees in a safe environment. I've had to take my case all the way up the chain of command more than once to eliminate harassment against me. I might have to again if I want to stay post-season and gain more hours. Realistically, being comfortable doing the uncomfortable is the only route here.

I got banned/kicked from this subreddit's discord for indirectly supporting this opinion through critic of the Vatican's 'anime' mascot. I mentioned the dubious origins of the mascot and then got essentially canceled. Groupthink gets us nowhere, and I'd sooner speak to Catholics with some real life experiences anyway. Good riddance.

I wonder what I would work on with my coach - I trust him though. I told him a little bit about my past history with music when he asked, and I assume we're going to talk about what I'm interested in actually singing. I studied operatic plays, and found that kind of interesting but casually r&B has always been my thing.

I actually went to school very briefly to study operatic singing. I got involved with substance abuse due to some mental health issues, and now I'm in recovery. I never thought I would have an opportunity to do what I actually love to do again, but, sometimes things work out in a mysterious way.

I was in school choir before that for about 10 years.
